With a very heavy heart, I’m sharing that yesterday morning my Drama crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her pain had been increasing, and her prognosis was grim.
English Mastiffs typically live 8–10 years. I once had one make it to 10, but Drammy was an owner surrender we took in back in 2020, already ill. Even so, she gave us more time than anyone expected.
She slept in my bed until she could no longer climb up. When that ended, I laid on the floor with her instead, giving her massages, cuddles, and constant reassurance (never enough, though). I managed her pain the best I could, spoiled her with all the snacks, and loved her fiercely.
She wasn’t “just a dog.” She was family. A protector. A snuggle bug. And now, my guardian angel.
The space she leaves behind is enormous. Her hair on the floor and on my clothes reminds me that she was just here.. that she mattered, that she was loved. Having her in my life, especially during some of the hardest moments of mine, was a gift I will never stop being grateful for.
Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge, my sweet girl. I will love you forever.
She is one of the biggest reasons why I started this company. I want to give dignity, comfort, care and love to nervous, elderly, fearful dogs who struggle with vet visits or nail care in general. I hope to provide any amount of love possible to every pup I meet- and their parents. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
