Dolly Parton didnā€™t just give us ā€œ9 to 5ā€ā€¦she gave us a blueprint!

She wrote ā€œI Will Always Love Youā€ and ā€œJoleneā€ back to back in one day. And through every bit of it, sheā€™s said the quiet part out loud: you donā€™t get the rainbow without the rain.

Thatā€™s ambition. You can be soft and strategic, glittery and grounded, kind and unshakeable in business.

So todayā€™s business lesson comes straight from Dolly: put in the work, weather the rain, and donā€™t apologize for wanting the whole rainbow. šŸŒˆ

Resilience isnā€™t always graceful.

Sometimes resilience looks like showing up when you donā€™t feel like it.
Starting over after a setback.
Having the hard conversation.
Choosing to keep going when no one else sees the effort.

It isnā€™t always inspiring in the moment.

Sometimes itā€™s just plain stubborn.

That reminder is one of my favorite passages from Balance Is a Scam because resilience isnā€™t about pretending everything is okay, itā€™s about refusing to let lifeā€™s challenges have the final say.

You're not being "responsible" with money. You're being small on purpose.

There's a point where caution stops protecting your business and starts costing it. Doing $20/hr work when you could be doing $200/hr work? That's not savingsā€¦ that's a ceiling.
