Elected officials can MAKE policies—and, just as importantly, UNMAKE policies—that directly affect our businesses, access to funding, employees, families, and livelihoods. What happens in Lansing, DC and in our local governments can determine whether small businesses have the resources and opportunities we need to survive and grow.

I recently had the opportunity to meet with Jocelyn Benson and talk about the needs and experiences of minority-owned and small businesses. These are the conversations business owners need to be part of.

Moving Forward, unfortunately, it is no longer feasible for T. Ramsey & Associates to continue providing services at no cost or at reduced rates.

Please know that we did not arrive at this decision lightly. For more than ten years, it has been a privilege to make our services accessible to individuals and businesses who may not have otherwise been able to afford them. We have always believed in giving back, meeting people where they are, and doing our part to help others move forward.

However, as we enter this next stage of our business journey, we have had to take an honest look at what is sustainable for our practice. While we remain deeply committed to serving our community, there are some practices that we must respectfully leave behind in order to continue growing, operating responsibly, and providing the level of service our clients deserve.

This change does not diminish our appreciation for the many people and businesses we have had the opportunity to work with over the years. Your trust, referrals, support, and continued success have meant more to us than you may realize, and we are incredibly grateful to have been a part of so many entrepreneurial journeys.

As a small business; how are you preparing??

After several years of strong post-pandemic revenue growth, many states entered 2026 facing slower revenue collections and widening budget gaps. As lawmakers search for ways to balance budgets, small businesses may find themselves at the center of policy debates involving pass-through entity taxes, corporate income taxes, sales taxes on services, industry-specific levies, and new compliance and reporting requirements. At the same time, potential reductions in federal funding could force states to reevaluate spending priorities and assume greater responsibility for funding certain benefit programs, creating additional budget pressures.

This webinar will examine the fiscal challenges states are facing, the tax and regulatory proposals gaining traction across the country, and the potential impacts on small businesses. This is why your vote is vital!!!

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) voted to rescind a rule dating back to the 1960s that requires large employers to collect and share data on the race and gender of their workforce.

The move, as part of the Trump administration’s broader anti-DEI efforts, would make it harder for Black workers, as well as women and other marginalized groups, to make claims of workplace discrimination.
