Today we had the pleasure of welcoming one of Backroads Bike cycling groups to Pope Valley W**ery for a private tasting and lunch. 🍷🚲

There’s something special about tasting w**e in the place where it’s actually made.

Their visit took them through our historic 1897 w**ery and hand-dug cellar before heading upstairs to our private second-story lounge for a tasting and lunch overlooking the property.

Here, the experience is centered around the w**e — the vineyard, the soils, the season and the hands-on w**emaking behind every bottle. Our w**es are handcrafted in small lots, and every vintage is a little different because every growing season is a little different. That’s part of what makes w**e so interesting.

Each bottle tells a story of where it came from — the terroir, the vintage, the decisions made in the vineyard and cellar, and the people with their boots on the ground making it happen.

At Pope Valley W**ery, all visits are by advance reservation, allowing us to welcome both large and small groups while keeping every experience intentional, personal and connected to the w**e and the character of this historic w**ery.

No crowded tasting room. No rushed experience. Just thoughtfully made w**e, a historic working w**ery, and the time to experience both.

Harvest 2026 feels a little extra special. 🍇❤️

Saturday was truly a family harvest as we brought in Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

We went back to our roots — quite literally. The very first harvest David and I ever helped with, we were kids. And this weekend, our kids were right there with us, bringing in another vintage at our family w**ery.

This year marks a new chapter for Pope Valley W**ery. We’re taking things back to a small, boutique family operation, producing limited quantities of w**e for our w**e club members and the guests who make the trip out to visit us.

Less about volume. More about family, the vineyard, the w**es we love to make, and sharing this special place with the people who appreciate it.

🍇 Harvest is here — and we’ve got some exciting news!

We’re kicking off harvest this weekend, and Saturday you can get in on the action!

Come get a firsthand look at what harvest at Pope Valley W**ery is really like. Watch the grapes come in, see what happens behind the scenes, and experience one of the most exciting times of the year in Napa Valley.

Want to get your hands a little dirty? Bring a bucket and pick some grapes to take home for jelly, a small home batch, or simply for the fun of experiencing harvest yourself. 🍇

Make a day of it! Bring a picnic, enjoy a tasting, and then settle in at one of our picnic tables while you soak in the sights, sounds, and energy of harvest around the w**ery. 🍷🧺

It’s a chance to experience Pope Valley during harvest—not just taste the w**e, but see a little of what goes into making it.

A new chapter is unfolding at Pope Valley W**ery. 🍷

For more than a century, our historic estate has been a place to slow down, gather together, and experience a quieter side of Napa Valley.

As we look ahead, we’re returning to our roots — family-led, small-lot w**es, limited-production estate w**es, and genuine, personal hospitality.

As part of this next chapter, Pope Valley W**ery is moving to a reservation-based tasting experience rather than maintaining traditional walk-in tasting room hours.

Reservations are available Friday through Monday, and advance reservations are encouraged. Same-day visits may be available depending on the day, so please check with us before heading our way. Visits Tuesday through Thursday may also be accommodated by request and availability.

We’re also bringing back something we’ve missed — picnics at the w**ery. Reserve a picnic table, weather permitting, bring along your favorite picnic, and spend a little more time enjoying the beauty and slower pace of Pope Valley.
