💎 Join Team Devon in the Fight for Su***de Awareness
In 2013, I lost my cousin, Devon, who was like a brother to me, to su***de. Yes , I can finally say it out loud 🗣️ It was a loss that shook my family and our entire community. 💔Su***de has no color, no boundaries. It’s a silent battle that so many face, and too often, they face it alone.
This year, I'm walking with the Urban League of Long Island , leading "Team Devon" in honor of my cousin and all those we’ve lost. On October 27th at Jones Beach we will walk to raise awareness for su***de prevention and mental health, especially within our African American community. This walk marks the beginning of the Urban League of Long Island’s campaign for su***de and mental health awareness, but more importantly, it’s a call to action for us all.
Su***de and mental health struggles affect everyone. If you’ve ever felt alone, like you couldn’t open up, I want you to know—you’re not alone. We need to break the stigma that keeps us from talking about these issues. Let’s walk together to show that we care, to show that every life matters, and to spread hope.
