**Applied before your work permit expired? ⏳**

That doesn’t automatically answer whether you can keep working.

Here’s the simple breakdown 👇

🟢 **Applied to extend your work permit BEFORE it expired?**
You may be able to keep working while IRCC processes your application, subject to the conditions that apply to you.

🔴 **Applied to change from worker to visitor?**
Once your work permit expires, you **cannot continue working** just because the visitor application is processing.

🟠 **Your permit expired BEFORE you applied?**
You may need to apply for **restoration of status**. In most cases, you cannot work while waiting for restoration and a new work permit.

⚠️ **Remember: Maintained status ≠ Restoration**

What matters is:

✓ When you applied
✓ What you applied for
✓ What status and conditions you had before

So don’t assume **“application submitted = I can keep working.”**

📌 Save this if your permit is expiring soon.
📤 Share it with someone who may need it.

Have questions about your status? DM **“STATUS”** to KDI Immigration.

They’re staying back home… so you don’t need to mention them? 🤔

Not so fast.

If you’re completing IMM 5707 – Family Information, here’s something applicants can easily misunderstand:

❌ Not coming to Canada
doesn’t automatically mean
❌ Don’t include them on the form

Keep these in mind 👇

🔹 Include the family members the form asks about
🔹 Clearly indicate who is/isn’t accompanying you
🔹 Double-check names, dates & relationships
🔹 Don’t leave fields blank just because you’re unsure — follow the form instructions

A small assumption can create unnecessary confusion in your application.

Read the question. Check the details. Then submit. ✓

📌 Save this for application day
📤 Share it with someone applying to Canada
💬 Need help? DM “FORM” to KDI Immigration.

General information only. Always follow current IRCC instructions for your application.

“My spouse can work in Canada, so I should be able to work too.”

It sounds logical.

But immigration eligibility doesn’t always work that way.

Being married or in a common-law relationship with someone who holds a Canadian work permit does not, by itself, make you eligible for an Open Work Permit.

The important question is not only:

“Does my spouse have a work permit?”

It’s also:

→ What type of permit do they hold?
→ What occupation are they working in?
→ Does their occupation fall within the applicable eligibility requirements?
→ How much validity is left on their work authorization?
→ Are they on an eligible permanent residence pathway?

And if your spouse is studying in Canada, a different set of requirements may apply.

That’s why two couples who appear to have very similar situations can receive very different answers when it comes to Spousal Open Work Permit eligibility.

Before you submit an application, understand which rules actually apply to your family’s situation.

Have a Spousal Open Work Permit question?

Send KDI Immigration a DM with “SPOUSE” and tell us briefly about your situation.

Save this for when you’re ready to apply.

A PR refusal doesn’t just reject an application.

For many people, it feels like it rejects years of hard work, sacrifices, late nights, and the future they imagined in Canada.

We’ve spoken with applicants who couldn’t sleep after receiving that refusal letter.

Some wanted to submit another application immediately.

Others felt like giving up completely.

Neither decision should be made without understanding what actually happened.

Every refusal has a reason, and every case deserves to be reviewed carefully before deciding the next step.

Sometimes it’s about missing information.
Sometimes it’s about how the application was presented.
Sometimes another pathway may be more appropriate.

The important thing is this:

Don’t let one decision define your entire immigration journey.

If your Canadian immigration application has been refused, let’s review your case together and help you understand your options.

What if your Super Visa wasn’t refused because you didn’t qualify… but because of what you submitted? 👀

A Super Visa refusal can be heartbreaking—especially when your goal is simply to have your parents or grandparents with you in Canada.

But here’s something many families don’t realize:

A refusal doesn’t always mean you weren’t eligible.

Sometimes, it means the application didn’t include the documentation IRCC needed to make a positive decision.

In this case, we carefully reviewed the refusal, identified the gaps, and rebuilt the application with stronger supporting evidence.

✅ Financial documents that better demonstrated eligibility
✅ Super Visa medical insurance meeting program requirements
✅ A stronger invitation package
✅ Additional documents addressing the officer’s concerns

The result? The Super Visa was approved, and the family was reunited. ❤️

If your Super Visa has been refused, don’t rush into submitting the same application again. Start by understanding why it was refused.

📩 DM “SUPER” to book your Super Visa assessment.

🇨🇦 You might be eligible for Canadian citizenship sooner than you think.

Many Permanent Residents wait months—or even years—to apply because they assume they haven’t met the requirements yet.

The truth is, eligibility isn’t based on how long you’ve felt you’ve lived in Canada. It’s based on meeting IRCC’s official requirements, including:

✅ Physical presence in Canada
✅ Eligible time spent in Canada before becoming a PR (where applicable)
✅ Income tax filing requirements
✅ Language requirements (for eligible age groups)

A small misunderstanding about any of these could mean applying too early—or waiting longer than necessary.
