Like last week, Coheed and Cambria played a massive role in Kelsi Crisp Staninger and my relationship early on. Again, like last week Ryan Thomas introduced me to the band when he was home from college. I found their style to be unlike anything I had heard at the time, and immediately felt like I was in on a really cool secret. Besides their unique sound, the other thing that really set them apart in my mind is that they created a concept that told a story across multiple albums and who's plot follows the graphics novels, The Amory Wars, written by front man Claudio Sanchez. I had thought that the days of the concept albums were a thing of the past, perfected by Pink Floyd and long forgotten. Knowing that the lyrics and music all had a meaning really made the listening experience much for visible and enjoyable for me. So without any more further ado I hope you enjoy 'A Favor House Atlantic' by Coheed and Cambria. Whose plot follows Al The Killer, an assassin, hell bent on putting an end to the protagonist (Claudio rights himself into the story), which ultimately results in Al's death. At the start, Al betrays Claudio (the character), as he takes the group to The House Atlantic, which is Wilhelm Ryan's (the dystopian overlord) headquarters. Al redeems himself at the last-minute, and helps the group to escape, which in turn costs Al his life.
Enjoy!
