We’re in Bend for the 2026 Bend Venture Conference (BVC), cheering on Hewa Artin, MD, MBA and Josh Parks as they represent their company, Ebb Health, Inc.!

Based in Portland, Ebb Health is developing a platform for durable relief of neuropathic pain and was selected as an Early Stage finalist at this year’s conference. We’re proud to support their work and see Oregon bioscience companies sharing their innovations with investors and the broader startup community.

Also, a special shoutout to Yalda Moshiri for serving as a moderator at this year’s conference. You did amazing!

A fascinating technology isn't automatically a business opportunity.

One of the first questions BioBuild founders will tackle is deceptively simple:

What problem are you solving, and is it important enough for someone to act?

Before regulatory strategy, fundraising or investor decks comes clarity about the opportunity itself.

That's where we start.

Applications for BioBuild are now open: https://zurl.co/gerNj

Founders are expected to know a lot.
Science. Markets. Funding. Regulatory. IP. Reimbursement. Hiring. Strategy.

That's a pretty unreasonable number of hats for one head.

That's why mentorship is built into BioBuild.

Each participating company will be paired with a dedicated BioMentor who can provide an experienced outside perspective throughout the 8-week cohort.

Not another lecture just someone in your corner.

BioBuild wasn't designed around generic startup advice.

Bioscience companies face different questions.

Long development timelines. Regulatory pathways. Intellectual property. Reimbursement. Clinical evidence. Capital requirements.

That's why BioBuild sessions are led by people with experience in the bioscience industry and the specific challenges founders will encounter along the way.

Eight weeks. Practical questions. Experienced perspectives.

Eight weeks. Eight big questions.

BioBuild isn't about sitting through eight weeks of presentations.

It's about working on your company.

What's the opportunity?
Who's your customer?
What's your development path?
How will you navigate regulatory?
What protects your competitive advantage?
Who pays?
Can you build the company?
Can you tell the story?

And you won't tackle those questions alone.

Industry experts, dedicated BioMentors and fellow founders will be building alongside you.

Applications open this October.

Build intentionally. Grow thoughtfully. Shape your culture.

Join us for our next Virtual Lunch & Learn with Terry Smith as he explores the importance of intentional company culture and how it influences your success.

This session will explore how culture starts with the way you work and get things done, and why being intentional about that foundation matters as your company grows. Terry will share practical approaches to building a strong company culture, preparing for future hiring and team development, and recognizing what can happen when you let your culture develop without intention.

We’re kicking off Bend Venture Conference (BVC) with a lunch built for connection!

Join Oregon Bioscience Incubator for the Accelerate Biotech Networking Lunch on October 15 at Willamette Valley Vineyards in Bend, just steps from the Tower Theater and perfectly timed between BVC programming.

This lunchtime gathering brings together bio entrepreneurs, ecosystem supporters, and stakeholders from across Oregon for meaningful conversations, new connections, and a chance to connect with others working across biotech, digital health, and health innovation.

Meet innovators and industry leaders, build relationships that extend beyond BVC, and help strengthen Oregon’s connected bioscience ecosystem.

Is BioBuild for you?

You don't need to have every answer.

In fact, that's rather the point.

BioBuild is designed for early-stage bioscience founders and teams with promising science who are ready to dig into the questions that can determine whether an idea becomes a viable company.

If you're working through customer discovery, development strategy, regulatory, IP, reimbursement, business model, team building or how to tell your story, BioBuild was built with you in mind.

Applications open in October.

What a night celebrating the people helping move Oregon’s life sciences community forward!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Heather Ellis, Executive Director of Oregon Bioscience Incubator/OTRADI, who was named Life Science Woman of the Year at yesterday’s Oregon Life Sciences Conference. Her nomination describes a leader who consistently works behind the scenes to create opportunities, raise the visibility of Oregon bioscience, and help others succeed. We couldn’t agree more.

We’re also thrilled to celebrate Patti White, CEO and Co-Founder of Hemex Health, Inc., who was named Life Science Entrepreneur of the Year. Hemex Health continues to make an incredible impact with its Gazelle point-of-care testing platform.

Congratulations as well to Rep. Hai Pham DMD, named Life Science Legislator of the Year! We’re also celebrating Shula Jaron, outgoing Chair of Oregon Bio Women, for five years of leadership, mentorship, and service. Thank you, Shula, for opening doors for women across Oregon’s life sciences community.

We’re lucky to work alongside leaders like these who are helping shape the future of Oregon life sciences. Congratulations to all of this year’s OLS Excellence Award winners!
