Rose City Self-Defense empowers the Portland community, including girls, women and the LGBTQ+ community, with a focus on engaging communities of color, people with disabilities, folks with unstable housing, as well as safety for s*x workers. All programming is free!

The Oregon Legislature’s short session is already halfway over—and it's moving fast! Thank you to everyone who has shown up for our community so far by contacting lawmakers, testifying, and spreading the word. The finish line is approaching, but we’re not done yet.

There’s still time to email your legislators about Oregon’s budget shortfall. Tell them not to cut services that people with disabilities need to thrive!

When you share your opinions, elected leaders listen. Here’s proof: two dangerous bills are already defeated that, if passed, would have hurt people with disabilities. Stay tuned for more ways to take action!

HB 4003 would have allowed Oregon to use a discriminatory “prioritized list” to decide whose care is covered under the Oregon Health Plan.

HB 4106 would have given law enforcement a free pass to use force against people experiencing mental health crises.
