Autumn scenes on a couple of our projects. We left a red maple snag behind after a necessary removal a few years ago and the amount of insect, bird and mammal activity is amazing! And yes, that’s a yellow foxglove blooming in November!!

I’m pretty sure we found at least 8 different apple tree cultivars on this very old dairy farm! Lots of local geese and deer activity noted as well. New plants will be a challenge to sustain - but heavy reliance on additional native species will be design direction.

I’m always thrilled to receive photos from our clients of their flourishing landscapes! This stylized wildflower meadow is onto its third season and I’m a bit surprised at the abundant rudbeckia - we typically see those fade out in dominance after the second year. We designed the curving footpaths and our clients set the bluestone steppers (he found a deal!). The were part of the original mixed border which we preserved and integrated into the meadow design in honor of his late wife. Stewardship by the crew!
