It’s that time of year friends! Weird fruit, heirloom tomatoes, and summer garden goodness available now
Available now:
Ground Cherry Starts – $7
Sweet little tropical-tasting fruits in papery husks. Easy to grow, productive, and kind of weird in the best way.
Seattle’s Best of All – $4
A PNW-friendly tomato bred to do well here, even when summer weather is doing its usual thing.
Cuore di Bue – $4
Italian oxheart with really good flavor. Great for sauce or sliced fresh.
Pomodoro Squisito – $5
San Marzano-style tomato with dense flesh and rich flavor.
All tomato varieties are indeterminate, which just means they keep producing all season instead of giving one big round of tomatoes and being done.
More details if you’re a plant nerd:
Ground Cherries – $7
One of my favorite weird edible plants. They grow little husked fruits that taste somewhere between pineapple and vanilla with a kind of tropical sweetness. Super productive, easy to grow, and always something people ask about. They do sprawl more than you’d expect, so give them some room.
Seattle’s Best of All – $4
A good one if tomatoes have been hit-or-miss for you in the Pacific Northwest. This variety was selected to do well in our climate and is known for being reliable and productive.
Cuore di Bue – $4
A classic Italian oxheart tomato with rich flavor and meaty flesh. Makes great sauce but is also really good sliced fresh.
Pomodoro Squisito – $5
A really nice San Marzano-style tomato with fewer seeds, dense flesh, and excellent flavor for sauce, roasting, or fresh eating.
