Natural burial, also known as green burial, is the simplest and most earth-friendly way to return a body to the land. No embalming. No metal casket. No concrete vault. Just a biodegradable shroud or simple container, and a grave dug by hand or machine.
It’s legal in all 50 states, and more options are becoming available every year.
