💰STOP SCROLLING. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN.
ELEVEN x 100 oz Vintage Engelhard .999+ Fine Silver Bars just hit my desk. That is 1,100 troy ounces of pure, heavyweight history.
If you know, you know. Engelhard is the king of silver bars. No longer produced. The most trusted, most recognized, most desired name in bullion. Collectors chase that iconic stamp, those low serial numbers, and that old vintage character you simply cannot get anymore.
Feel the weight in these photos. This is real money. Real scarcity. Real legacy.
I have 11 available TONIGHT only. When big Engelhards surface like this, they do not sit. First come, first served.

I'M BUYING THIS WEEK in Prattville, Millbrook and Montgomery!
Got a coffee can of wheat cents, grandpa's silver dollars, or a full collection in the closet? Don't take 50 percent at a pawn shop.
I'm Matt with Matt's Numismatics, Est. 2021. Lifelong collector turned dealer. American patriot, veteran, and your word is everything guy.
My promise is simple: fair, honest offers at 85 to 90 percent of value. I have to make a little to stay in business, but I will treat your collection like my own, like I would for my father or grandfather.
Silver dollars are my favorite, but I'm buying gold, silver, collectible coins and paper currency. $100 or $100,000, you get the same respect.
Appraisals are FREE when you sell to me.
Drop a photo in the comments or DM me and let's talk. I answer several times a week.
Who has something for me to look at this week?

🔥 FAKE MONEY THAT HELPED WIN A WAR? 🔥
You are looking at two $20 Confederate notes from July 25th, 1861... that are BOTH Northern-made fakes!
These are the famous CT-18 / T-20 “Female Riding Deer” Contemporary Counterfeits - printed in Philadelphia by Samuel Upham and his imitators during the Civil War.
Upham started selling them as “souvenirs” for pennies with his name on the border: “Fac-simile Confederate Notes Sold Wholesale and Retail.” People figured out real quick if you trimmed off his name, you could spend them in the South and buy cotton.
It became full-on economic warfare. Tens of thousands of these flooded the Confederacy and helped drive that 92x inflation.
HOW CAN YOU TELL?
👉 Printed signatures (real ones are handwritten)
👉 Crude woodcut of Diana riding a deer - that’s Industry on the real T-20
👉 Printed serial numbers - No. 107 and No. 6430
👉 That orange/red “XX” color that fades differently
I love having both color varieties side-by-side - one red, one faded orange. Same counterfeit plate, two different lives in circulation.
No Confederate collection is complete without a Upham. And yes - these bogus notes are now worth MORE than some genuine ones!
Which color do you like better - RED or ORANGE? 👇

This one hits different when you're from Montgomery.
This is an 1850's Central Bank of Alabama $500 "Proof" - AL65G28P - graded PMG 65 EPQ Gem Uncirculated. A true Proof, never issued for circulation, with perfect paper quality and that incredible bold vignette of Washington still looking like it was printed yesterday.
As a Montgomery guy, holding a high-denomination note from The Central Bank OF ALABAMA that was meant for my hometown in the 1850s is just special. The history, the artistry, the condition - it doesn't get much better than this for Alabama obsolete currency.
This one is a permanent piece. It will not leave my collection until I leave this world.
Thanks for following along on the hunt for Alabama history!

100 OUNCES OF HISTORY. 🏦
Picked up this beauty today - 100oz Engelhard.999+ Fine Silver, P-series. Over 6 pounds in hand.
For those who don’t know, this is the classic extruded 100oz. Engelhard set the standard for silver in the US, but they left the retail bullion market back in the late 80s/early 90s and were later bought by BASF in 2006 - which ended all new Engelhard-branded bars. That means every Engelhard out there now is vintage and from a finite supply.
That’s why collectors hunt these down. Part bullion, part piece of American precious metals history.
Straight into the vault. New centerpiece for the stack.
What’s the biggest Engelhard in your stack?

🇺🇸 U.S. EARLY COMMEMORATIVE SET — CLASSIC ERA 1892-1954 🇺🇸
This is where American commemoratives started — and why serious collectors still chase them.
YEARS & SCOPE:
1892 to 1954. 60 coins authorized by Congress. 50 different silver designs plus Gold Dollars, $2.50s and the legendary $50 Slugs. It started with the 1892 Columbian Expo Half Dollar to fund the World's Fair in Chicago and ended with the 1954 Washington-Carver Half.
4 KEYS PICTURED HERE:
🔹 1892 Columbian Half Dollar — The FIRST U.S. commemorative ever. Columbus / Santa Maria ship. History you can hold from the 400th anniversary of America.
🔹 1925 Stone Mountain Half Dollar — Lee & Jackson on horseback. Largest mintage of the early series at 1.3M distributed but THE most iconic Southern design. Sculpted by Gutzon Borglum who later carved Mt. Rushmore.
🔹 1915-S Panama-Pacific $50 Octagonal — The HOLY GRAIL. 90% Gold, 2.5x a Double Eagle, only 645 sold. Only 483 of the Round $50 were sold. If you own one, you own the king of classic commemoratives.
🔹 1900 Lafayette Dollar — The FIRST commemorative DOLLAR. Only 36,026 struck. Conjoined busts of Washington & Lafayette. Funded the Lafayette statue in Paris. Only U.S. dollar to feature a U.S. President before the Morgan Dollar era ended.
WHY COLLECT THEM?
These weren't just coins — they funded World Fairs, battlefields, and monuments. Designed by Barber, Morgan, Aitken — real American art in 90% silver and gold. Low mintages, historically significant, and still UNDERVALUED compared to modern commemoratives. A complete 50-piece silver set is one of the greatest achievements in numismatics.
Are you building your Early Comm set? Which one are you missing?
This set pictured is available for reference / discussion — message me for current inventory and grades.
