Aroostook Women's Network AWN- Where Women Rise. Together.

05/20/2026

Women in Maine agriculture are leading with innovation and resilience, often balancing business, family, and life on the farm.

Sara Corey Parker of Daniel Corey Farms, Seed Pro Inc, and Nu-Seed Corp is a powerful example of that spirit. From managing seed shipments across the U.S. and internationally, to tissue culture propagation in the lab, to harvesting in the field, Sara helps drive one of Maine’s dynamic agricultural operations forward every day.

We’re proud to recognize Sara as part of the Year of the Woman Farmer in Maine 2026. 🌱

Thank you to everyone who joined last night’s Aroostook Women’s Network presentation on AI in Marketing in Madawaska! We had a great conversation about how AI tools can help businesses save time, strengthen marketing efforts, and improve customer engagement while keeping authenticity at the center. Johanna Jo Johnston and Summer Dulinsky did an amazing job sharing their knowledge and expertise.

It was wonderful to see so much interest in innovation and growth here in Aroostook County!

A big thank you to Inn of Acadia for hosting us and NorState Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the delicious food. We are grateful to our supportive community partners!

Strong women. Maine grit. Breaking barriers one swing at a time. 🪓💪

The Axe Women of Maine are a powerful reminder that leadership, resilience, and skill come in many forms — and that women continue to carve out space in industries and traditions where they’ve historically been underrepresented.

At Aroostook Women’s Network, we love celebrating women who challenge expectations, support one another, and inspire the next generation to pursue whatever path lights them up.

If you’ve never seen logging sports in person, this is your sign to check out the upcoming Logger Fest in Fort Kent! It’s an incredible opportunity to experience a unique part of Maine culture, support talented athletes, and cheer on some truly impressive women in action. 🌲🪓

Here’s to women who aren’t afraid to take up space, work hard, and kick axe while doing it. 🔥

It's on! 🌲

Come check out what the Axe Women of Maine can do! This is going to be an exciting show of the toughest ladies in Maine!

They have a strong team of doctors, farmers, scientists, educators, advocates, news anchors, members of law enforcement, firefighters, foresters, artists, business leaders, former U.S. Olympic athletes, and U.S. Forest Service members!

Show times and location will be announced in the coming weeks. Let's welcome this awesome team to Fort Kent!

Last night, we had the privilege of hearing Abbey Clair, Executive Director of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation, share her professional journey and tell us about how she leads with confidence. This incredibly honest and deeply personal story resonated strongly with the nearly 30 women in attendance. It spurred great questions and honest sharing. It also allowed each of us to think about the choices we make and how to better navigate situations where we are unsure of our abilities and uncomfortable taking bold steps.

THIS is what AWN is all about.

Connecting. Collaborating. Empowering.

Thank you Abbey for an incredible evening! And thank you ladies for making the night so special!

Special thanks to the Best Western Caribou Inn and Laurie LaFleur for hosting us! We turned Buck’s Bar into the Doe’s Den 😊

Join the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce and Aroostook Partnership tomorrow, April 2, at Upover for a Business Open House.

We look forward to welcoming Aroostook Partnership, led by President & CEO, Kiersten Purington, and learning more about the important work happening across Aroostook County. During the evening, you’ll hear what they are accomplishing, how they provide value to investors and the broader community, and ways to become more involved.

As part of the Chamber’s growing lineup of events designed to spotlight, connect, and educate, this open house offers a relaxed setting to engage directly and ask questions. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, with a cash bar available. Stop by anytime between 4:30 and 6:30 PM at the Upover, part of the Downunder Pub located at 282 North Street.

What a lovely, fierce group of women who came together!!!

As one participant perfectly said—and I’m pretty sure this is about to become my new favorite phrase—This is a level of bad-a$$ery I’m excited to network with…”

I mean… SAME!!!

Alright, let’s have some fun with this! Bonus points if you know who said it! Tag them here.

(No prize… just the pure satisfaction of being right and maybe a little bragging rights 😏)

The group’s meetings will rotate throughout The County from Houlton to Fort Kent, so women throughout the region can participate.
