It's been a while since we posted. This customer lived over an hour away and decided to bring their washing machine to us. Luckily it was a pleasant day to do driveway diagnosis. Here's Terry after removing half of the machine. This unit would drain and fill, start the wash, turn a couple of times and just end the cycle.

Terry to the Rescue! 🛠️

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when your washing machine needs some TLC? Terry is comfortably stationed on the floor, diving deep into the inner workings of not one, but two washing machines. Terry’s busy replacing the inverter board to ensure the washing machines spin and wring with maximum efficiency. These washers would start a cycle, add the water, tumble a few times, and then end the cycle. An inverter board in a washing machine plays a crucial role in controlling the motor that drives the drum. In this case, the inverter board failed to communicate to the motor to start, and the cycle would abort.

Our skilled technician Terry is hard at work installing a new bellow on a washing machine! The old one was torn, and the customer didn't like that it smelled bad and it looked like it had mold on it. Front-loaders are highly efficient and eco-friendly, but they can be prone to developing odors over time. This is often due to a combination of residual moisture, detergent buildup, and trapped lint. The bellow around the door is particularly susceptible, creating a perfect environment for mold and mildew to thrive. It's often recommended to leave the door ajar to allow moisture to evaporate. If your washer has been giving you trouble, don’t let it ruin laundry day! Give us a call, and we'll get you taken care of.

We had the pleasure of fixing the popcorn maker at Mesa Drive In Pueblo. It brought back a lot of enjoyable childhood memories. The owners and crew are wonderful! There's very few drive in theaters left, Pueblo is lucky to be one of the cities that still has one. If you haven't been there in a while, it may be time to treat yourself. 😊

This 5-year-old Samsung stove has been meticulously maintained and looks like new. Despite its excellent condition, the front two burners have developed a faulty issue - they only heat on high, regardless of the setting. What's even more infuriating is that the repair parts required to fix this problem cost a staggering $350. It seems like Samsung has intentionally designed their parts to fail after a certain period, making it more cost-effective for consumers to simply replace the appliance rather than repairing it. It's an egregious example of planned obsolescence, where manufacturers prioritize profit over sustainability and the environment, ultimately contributing to unnecessary waste and the disposal of functioning appliances in landfills

Lesson For Today.

The Customer stated their washing machine would not drain. We found that the drain pump motor had failed and the impeller was stuck. We replaced the drain pump, but it still would not drain the water in the tub. Further inspection was needed. As you can see from the photo, the drain was clogged with a pair of underwear preventing water from getting to the pump and causing the pump to fail.

Many people have heard that they shouldn't overload their washing machine. There's a few reasons for this, and this is one of them. When you put too many clothes in the tub and it's swishing around, the smaller, lighter garments such as socks and underwear can get tossed in between the drum and the tub and then end up clogging the drain. Something to keep in mind the next time you do a load of laundry.

Ever wonder what it looks like inside your dryer? The customer stated their dryer wasn't getting hot. The heating element is buried inside the unit towards the base. Sometimes the thermofuses fail, but in this case they had continuity. When we removed the heating element, the issue was obvious.

It's been a busy day of appliance repair. We had a dishwasher that wasn't drying, an espresso machine that wasn't giving the proper volume and wasn't reading the shot, an oven that wasn't heating, replaced door seals on a True refrigerator, and a hot tub that wasn't getting hot. Feeling rather productive.
