When money wounds start to heal, it shows up in the practical stuff: bookkeeping that's actually done, sales conversations without panic, taxes finished in a day.

You're good at what you do.

But running a creative business -- the business side, the marketing, the "wait, am I the only one dealing with this?" side -- that's a whole other thing.

These are real quotes from real SECO members, collected when we asked them why they joined. They were tired of doing it alone, and they wanted to be around people who actually get it.

If any of these hit close to home, we invite you to check out the membership for yourself: https://thespeakeasycooperative.com/speakeasy/

Band-aid fixes are easier to sell. They're also the reason you keep ending up with the same problem six months later.

I've been strolling down memory lane, listening to old recordings of choirs I got to sing in. I can't help notice how choirs are microcosms of organizations.

Different voices. Different choices. Different lived experiences. All of it held together, making something none of us could pull off alone.

And how it takes a level of trust to pull that s**t off. True psychological safety.

Not a vibe, not a buzzword, not "everyone sings in unison." It's a shared belief that you won't be punished for hitting the wrong note, or missing the cutoff, or adding your flair to the descant.

As leaders, we have to make the space. As singers, we bravely take the space. Both. Always both.

Swipe through and tell me: where in your performing and music business life do you feel this most? And where do you feel it least?

Building community is something most of us care deeply about. We want our students, colleagues, and professional networks to feel genuinely connected to us and to each other.

But community is more complex than it looks.

It's shaped by psychology, by the small choices we make every day, and by patterns that emerge from how we interact over time. Understanding those forces makes you a better community builder and a more intentional business owner.

In this training, we'll explore why humans naturally divide themselves, how individual choices create collective patterns, and what it takes to build the kind of professional community where real connection and collaboration can happen. (And maybe folks actually show up for that group practice session!)

You'll leave with a new framework for thinking about your role in the broader music-teaching ecosystem, and specific practices to bring back to your work right away.

This is a SECO Member only training.

As part of our Multi-Teacher Studio May trainings, Sara Campbell will be teaching a training on how to optimize your Google Business Profile.

This tool is often under-utilized by MTS owners. They'll make one, and then hope that it just kinda does it's thing behind the scenes.

Google Business Profile is not a "set it and forget it" tool.

When used well, it’s a fab way to get your business in the coveted 3 spots known as the “map pack,” and to send signals to Google that your biz is well-trusted and well-liked.

In this training we’ll not only discuss ways to optimize your GBP listing, but also — and this is the most important part — how to DELEGATE the tasks to your office manager or other staff member so that updates are made consistently.

We’ve got some super awesome SOPS to share with y’all!

Not an MTS owner? No worries. This training will be equally valuable to independent business owners who wear “all the hats.”

This training is for members only and will be added to our member’s library for replay access later on 😊

SO… if you’re not a member: get thee inside! We look forward to welcoming you!
