NEW BOP RULE — FSA TIME CREDITS
Effective September 30, 2026
Other consultants are calling this a game-changer. It isn’t.
What changed: Your credit-earning clock can now start when your sentence officially begins — including time in custody awaiting transport — instead of only after you arrive at your designated facility.
The catch: You still have to earn the credits by completing BOP-approved programs or assigned productive activities. County jails and holdover units don’t offer them.
Bottom line: A helpful fix. Not a windfall. For most, it won’t move your release date.

You are dealing with a federal sentence. Your family is dealing with it too. You need honest information, clear expectations, and a consultant willing to turn down your money when hiring him is not the right move for you.
If a service will not change your outcome, we will tell you. If your goal is not realistic, we will tell you. We would rather lose the fee than take it under false pretenses.
