Yesterday, the Integra HR, LLC team enjoyed a Paint & Snack team-building event at Sand Lake Merchant in Averill Park, one of our valued clients.

Led by our founder and CEO, Jennifer L. Massey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, EA-CS, the experience began with a guided meditation that encouraged us to reflect on our favorite day in the HR profession. We then put those thoughts into words, transformed them into artwork on canvas, and shared our reflections with one another.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect, collaborate, and express our creativity outside of our day-to-day work. As a special treat, we also enjoyed authentic gelato imported from Rome, Italy, available at Sand Lake Merchant.

It was an inspiring afternoon filled with meaningful conversation, creativity, and team bonding. Thank you to Jennifer for guiding the amazing experience.

If you're looking for a unique venue for team-building activities, company events, or other memorable experiences, we highly recommend exploring what Sand Lake Merchant has to offer.

Today was one of those days that filled my cup in more ways than one. ❤️

Our Integra HR team had the opportunity to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank, sorting and packing food that will ultimately help feed thousands of people across a service area stretching from Rockland County to the Canadian border.

What amazed me was not only the scale of their work, but how they have continued to evolve since 2020. The need grew—and it never really subsided. As resources and assistance have changed or become harder to access, they have continued to adapt, innovate and find ways to serve more people.

And you can feel the passion behind it. From the employees guiding the work to the volunteers making so much of it possible, there is a shared commitment to getting it done.

We experienced that firsthand. A group of volunteers who had never worked together fell right into line—a little guidance, an incredibly organized process, lots of camaraderie…and we got to work. There might even be a leadership lesson in there somewhere. 😊

Days like today also remind me how fortunate I am to be part of Integra HR.

Community isn't simply something we talk about—it's one of our values, and we live it. Jennifer leads that by example. She gives generously of her own time and talents, creates opportunities for our team to do the same, and continually encourages us to think about the impact we can make beyond our everyday work.

I'm grateful to work alongside people who care deeply about the clients we serve, each other, and the community we're all part of. And I'm especially grateful for a leader who reminds us that success and service can—and should—go hand in hand.

Getting to give back to an organization that is also an Integra HR client made today even more meaningful.

A few hours. A lot of hands. A whole lot of impact. 🧡💙

Grateful to have been one small part of it.

There’s a small decal on our door that represents something much bigger.

Integra HR is proud to be a New York State Certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE). Also, with New York State launching the new Empire State MWBE Hub and unveiling a fresh look for the MWBE certification decal, it feels like the perfect time to talk about why this designation matters.

For a small business, certification isn’t simply another credential to add to a website.

It can create access. Visibility. Connections. And opportunities to compete in spaces where smaller businesses might otherwise struggle to get noticed.

Becoming certified also takes work. There’s an application process, documentation, verification, and, yes, patience, and persistence. That’s why earning the designation means so much to us.

We’re especially grateful to Janet Tanguay, NYS MWBE of Hammock Way of Life, whose guidance and encouragement helped us navigate the process.

Over the past year, we have firsthand experience of how our WBE certification can open doors, introduce us to new relationships, and put Integra in conversations we might not otherwise be included.

And that’s why we are excited to see New York State continuing to invest in the MWBE community.

When we make it easier for qualified small, women-owned, and minority-owned businesses to be seen, considered, connected, and allowed to compete, we strengthen more than individual businesses.

We strengthen the business community around them.

So yes, we’ll proudly display the new decal.

Not simply because of what it says about who owns our business, but because of what it represents.

Opportunity. Access. Persistence. Growth.

We are very proud of the journey that brought us here, and we are even more excited about what lies ahead.

To other small business owners who may qualify for MWBE certification but haven’t explored it yet; it may be worth finding out what doors it could open for you.

Great things take time. Trust the process, push forward, and remember brighter days are always ahead. ☀️
