Being a Horticulturist means that friends and family send you pictures of flowers, no matter where in the world they might be. 😊

At the first sign of spring, my brain instantly goes to seed starting! Whoa though, not a lot of things can be started this early. Check your seed packets! Know your last frost date and go from there. Here in Indiana I just sowed some peppers and endive for a first round, the rest of the endive will be directly sown soon. Sow onions if you have them and check your flower seeds. Many flowers need extra time and should be sown now.

One of my favorite things to do is walk around a new area and identify plants of interest. Found this Chelone glabra (Whote turtlehead) in a sunny wet area. This unusual native is unique and a favorite for pollinators late in the season.
