We recently asked our network which type of risk concerns leaders most. Insider threats emerged as the leading concern, receiving more than twice the votes of any other category, and it's an important conversation to have.
Insider threats aren't always malicious. They can stem from disgruntled employees, compromised credentials, unintentional actions, or individuals exploiting trusted access. What makes these risks particularly challenging is that traditional security measures may not be enough to identify them.
Effective risk management requires a more comprehensive approach: understanding behaviors, recognizing potential indicators, connecting information across teams, and establishing processes for early intervention.
The goal isn't to create a culture of suspicion. It's to build a culture of awareness, preparedness, and informed decision-making.
We're curious: does this result reflect the conversations happening within your organization? Or is another risk moving higher on your priority list?
