We had such an amazing time at the 2026 MIKEY Awards celebrating Rasheeda N Creighton and all of the incredible nominees recognized for their impact in our community 🖤✨

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of leaders, change makers, and people committed to creating real impact. Moments like these are a reminder of why community work matters and why organizations like Friends of Ezra, Inc. continue to make such a difference.

Congratulations again to all of the Architects of Impact honorees. Thank you for the work you do to lead, serve, and inspire across our city. 👏🏾

☕📚 CBA Graduate Spotlight: Mark “Anthony” Brumfield, The Bridge: Coffee & Bookstore ✨

The Bridge: Coffee & Bookstore is more than a coffee shop and bookstore it is a space intentionally created for connection, conversation, and community. Founded by Mark “Anthony” Brumfield and his wife, The Bridge was inspired by the growing need for authentic in person connection outside of virtual spaces. Currently operating as a pop up while working toward a future brick and mortar location, The Bridge offers coffee, new and used books, and rentable community space where creators, readers, entrepreneurs, and coffee lovers can gather and be their authentic selves. Rooted in relationship building and local support, the vision behind The Bridge is simple but powerful helping people feel connected instead of separated.

During his time in the Community Business Academy, Anthony gained a stronger understanding of financial management, taxes, and the realities of running a business with employees. More importantly, the experience gave him greater confidence as an entrepreneur and helped sharpen the vision for what The Bridge can become. We are excited to continue cheering him on as he moves into the next phase of opening his business and creating spaces where community can truly thrive.

Be sure to connect and support the journey of The Bridge: Coffee & Bookstore as this vision continues to grow. 🧡🖤

✨ CBA Graduate Spotlight: Jalyn Hammond, Connected Hands CPR & Training ✨

☀️ Pool days, summer camps, family vacations, and outdoor fun are officially here which makes this the perfect time to learn lifesaving CPR and First Aid skills.

Founded by registered nurse Jalyn Hammond, Connected Hands CPR & Training equips individuals, schools, businesses, churches, and community organizations with the confidence and knowledge to respond in emergency situations. Through hands on CPR and First Aid training certified by the American Heart Association and American Red Cross, Jalyn is helping make our communities safer one class at a time. Inspired by her firsthand experiences in healthcare, she created her business after recognizing how many people feel unprepared when emergencies happen and how critical those first moments can be.

During her time in the Community Business Academy, Jalyn strengthened her confidence as an entrepreneur and learned to stop treating her business like a side hustle and fully step into her worth as a business owner. Her growth and vision earned her the title of 2nd place winner of the Fall 2025 CBA Pitch Competition. 👏🏾

We are proud to celebrate Jalyn and all that she is building through Connected Hands CPR & Training. Be sure to follow and visit www.connectedhandscpr.com to learn more about upcoming trainings and services. 🧡🖤
