Isn’t it amazing how our brains work? Such an amazing and powerful organ. Our brains amazing abilities sometimes can cut both ways. We survive a traumatic event(s) and our brain protects us in the moment. Later, when it is time to move on, our brain still wants to keep us safe. This is why ptsd recovery is challenging. Awareness is the key. Once we see our PTSD- then we can address it and move forward.
Our goal is to have a rich full meaningful life. We can only do that when we have stopped protecting and start living.

It’s time to see our past trauma as that past. Let’s find ways to not let past events negatively affect us today. Instead let’s find ways to put things into perspective and move forward with less shame and resentment.

Unresolved Trauma and abandonment can be so strong in our lives. Our brains organize around survival and it becomes difficult to move forward on our lives.

Moving forward takes awareness, courage, and hope in a better future. Addictive thinking and behavior are so often fueled by past or current trauma and abandonment.

Reducing unresolved issues is a process. Starting your journey to a rich full meaningful life takes time but it is well worth it!

Intentional Gratitude means finding daily things to be grateful for. Seeing at least one good thing that happened to you each day. Spend time in meditation and prayer. Exercise. Do something nice for someone else.

We all have faced trauma and abandonment in our lives. It’s what we do with our traumatic experiences is what matters. Ignoring and surviving don’t work well. Talking, learning strategies do work.

Your marriage not as good as it could be? Tired of being miserably content? Get in there and fight for your marriage. Make it awesome. Think about having a relationship that has zero anxiety. That is what we all should be after. A trusting, safe, romantic relationship where we actually love and, yes, like each other!!!!
