This is what we photographers call a happy accident, when you capture something you weren't expecting to capture. I certainly was not expecting this!! I was sitting in my car one morning after spotting a pack of Red Wolves very far away but heading in my direction. I just kept shooting on burst as they came closer, expecting them to possibly disappear into the tall grass at any moment. Then suddenly, Mama wolf 2503 made this incredible leap into the air in an attempt to catch a bird flying by! I had no idea that Red Wolves could jump this high! That is her mate 2191 on the left by her feet and some of her pups. Not a great image since they were super far and the light was bad and I did not have my settings right to capture that kind of sudden action. Plus heavily cropped. But glad I got a shot of it anyway. Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.
