At first listen everyone celebrates the $75,000 contract.

Very few people understand what it represents.

It wasn't just a check.

It was proof that a kid from foster care, homelessness, addiction-filled households, and uncertainty could build something that inspires.

I didn't grow up seeing entrepreneurs, wealth, or stability.

I grew up witnessing survival.

So when that first major contract came through, my first thought wasn't what I could buy.

It was who I could put on.

My Business Partner
My DJ.
My cameraman.
My photographer.
The people helping build the vision.

Because real success isn't measured by what you make. It's measured by how many people eat because you refused to quit.

This a real story of what happens when pain finally meets purpose.

Three questions everyone should be asking about every institution they participate in —

Who designed this system?
Who sits at the top of it?
Who does it ultimately serve?

Every system was designed by a set of humans.

For a specific set of reasons.

And when you look at who sits at the top of every major American institution — the wealthiest individuals, the government officials, the media executives, the entertainment producers, the sports owners —
the pattern isn't subtle.

This isn't conspiracy. This is composition.

And composition tells you everything about who a system was designed to serve.

Because when you are not in the room where decisions get made — you are not a participant in the system.

You are a product of it.

Here's what the data actually shows about American institutional leadership:
The wealthiest Americans → Who's in the room?
Congress and government officials → Who's making the laws?
Media executives → Who controls the narrative?
Entertainment producers → Who owns the culture?
Sports franchise owners → Who profits from the talent?

The system isn't broken for everyone.
For some it is working exactly as designed.

They called me a miraculous life.

I stood at that podium at Azusa Pacific University and asked —
Why?

Well, less than 4% of foster children ever attend college.
That's not a miracle; that's an indictment because miracles are supposed to be rare, unexplainable, and outside of human control.

But a child making it to college isn't beyond human control.
It's beyond broken systems that were never designed for them to win.

We don't need more miraculous children.
We need adults courageous enough to fight for an equitable system.

Here's what less than 4% actually means:
4 out of every 100 foster children means
96 will never set foot on a college campus.

Not because they aren't capable.
Not because they aren't intelligent.
Not because they don't want a successful life.
But because the system was never built for them to win.

Nobody calls out of work for a headache.
They push through. Pop an Advil. Keep moving.

But a migraine? That stops everything. The lights. The noise. The ability to function.

THAT is the difference between what people will tolerate — and what they will pay to make it stop.

So here's the question I ask every speaker, creator, and entrepreneur I work with —

Are you solving headaches or migraines?
For example, if a school district is struggling with poor attendance, failing graduation rates, and behavioral crises — and YOU are the solution to that?

You don't need to negotiate your price.
You name it, because that problem is debilitating (i.e COSTING THEM MONEY)

Here's how to know if you're solving a headache or a migraine:

Headache → Nice to have, easy to ignore
Migraine → Must fix, impossible to push through

Headache pricing → Negotiated down
Migraine pricing → Paid without question

Headache clients → Shop around
Migraine clients → Call YOU back

Stop solving headaches and wondering why nobody will book or hire you. Solve MIGRAINES and your phone will ring.

Every failing business closes its doors.

Every failing school… gets increased funding and opens Monday morning. 😶

America built an entire system around mandatory attendance and called it education. No competition. No accountability. No consequences for failing entire generations of children.
And we’re still shocked at the outcomes? The system isn’t broken, It’s working effectively.
