Happy Friday, it’s Flashback Friday.

This throwback is from a Future event we had a couple of years ago, and it’s one of those moments I still smile about.

I had the chance to share the stage with Dr. Sudit and Dr. Lockhart, and it was such a fun experience.

They are the kind of people who bring great energy into the room. Always smiling, always willing to jump in, and fully present in the moment. And that makes all the difference when you’re up on stage together.

It wasn’t just about what we were teaching. It was about the experience, the connection, and the willingness to be part of something bigger than yourself.

Moments like these are why I love what I do.

Grateful for incredible people like this who make every event memorable.

Tag someone who brings that kind of energy into every room they walk into 👇

When it comes to any profession, I have a lot of respect for the women doing the work. I think it is understandable that it can be a little harder at times compared to some of their male counterparts. For example, in orthodontics, a male doctor can sometimes have a bad day or be a bit short with patients and it is often overlooked. Female doctors do not always get the same grace. If you have a tough day, you are expected to be perfect. The smallest slip can be perceived differently.

And today, I want to celebrate. I want to shine the spotlight for Thank You Thursday on an amazing woman in orthodontics and business, and first, a massive thank you to Dr. Schieck. I have had the privilege of working with her team, and she stands out among the women who deserve recognition in this profession. Thank you, Dr. Schieck, for allowing me to come work with your team, for hosting me, and for being the amazing person you are.

At the same time, I also want to recognize and thank all female orthodontists and women business owners in this space. Your work, your dedication, and the standard you set are inspiring. Today, we celebrate you and all that you do.

Happy Wednesday everyone. The first quarter of the year is officially over and we have officially entered the second quarter. This is not an April Fool’s Day post. As much as I love joking around, I want to take a serious moment to talk about something important.
How far along are you with your goals? I hope you have not given up and that you are still working at them. And if you have fallen off the horse a little, that is okay. You still have plenty of time to get back on track.

So what are you doing about it? I want to hear from you. Let me know in the comments if you have managed to accomplish some of your goals, if you are still working at them, or if you completely fell off the boat but are planning to pick yourself up again.

Remember, progress is not always linear. Every step counts and the second quarter is a fresh chance to move closer to what you set out to do.

Cheers to another week 🥂 I have been thinking a lot lately about the difference between focusing on your tasks versus owning your role, especially at work.

Tasks are easy to measure. Checklists, deadlines, outputs. But tasks do not define your impact. Your role does. Your role is about why you are here, what you are responsible for, and how you choose to show up for the people around you.

When we get caught up in task slavery, doing things just to get them done, we get stuck in the weeds. We limit our influence, our creativity, and our freedom. But when we own our role, when we embrace the bigger picture of what we are responsible for, something powerful happens:

✨ We start leading instead of just doing
✨ We begin adding value instead of just completing work
✨ We create space for growth for ourselves and for our teams

Owning your role means you step into purpose, not into busyness. That is real freedom.

So here is to a week where we think bigger than our to do list, where we focus on the impact we are here to make, not just the tasks we are here to check off.

Let us own it 💪

decided to kick off this week with a slightly longer, more educational post on something I think doesn’t get enough attention: culture.

Culture isn’t just a buzzword. It’s the heartbeat of any office. Sure, hard skills get you in the door, but soft skills? The way people communicate, collaborate, and care for each other — that’s what makes a team thrive. And honestly, that’s often more important than the technical skills on a resume.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight why investing in your culture pays off in ways that numbers and processes simply can’t. A strong culture makes people feel valued, encourages growth, and fosters teamwork — which ultimately drives better results across the board.

So this week, let’s think less about just hitting goals and more about how we treat each other while we do it. Culture matters, and it’s worth talking about.

Happy Friday, it’s Flashback Friday, and I came across a video I recorded a few years ago. Just by looking at my face and hairline, you can probably tell how long ago it was.

But even though the video is old, the principles I shared are still just as relevant today.

One thing I talked about then, and still stand by, is the importance of 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with new hires.

These check-ins are more than just a formality. They are an opportunity to hear from someone with a fresh perspective. Your new hire is not yet influenced by routine or the way things have “always been done.” They see your office, your practice, or your business with fresh eyes, and that perspective is invaluable.

During these check-ins, ask questions. Listen. Look for insights on systems, processes, or ways you can improve. Even if someone isn’t the perfect fit for your team long-term, they can still offer valuable observations. And if they are a great fit, this is a chance to make your environment even better for everyone.

So take these early check-ins seriously. Your team and your business will thank you.

Drop a comment if you’ve ever had a new hire point out something you hadn’t noticed before.

Lately I’ve been really fascinated by AI and how much it can simplify the way we work inside our businesses.

This clip is not scripted. It’s a real moment from a leadership call I had last week with one of the offices in my coaching program, where we were working through a challenge together.

During the call, I walked her through how I use WhisperFlow together with Claude.

Instead of sitting there trying to type everything perfectly, I just speak my thoughts out loud. WhisperFlow captures it, cleans it up, and turns it into something usable. Then I drop that into Claude to help organize the ideas, build out a plan, or refine the message.

What I’ve found is this removes one of the biggest bottlenecks for most people, overthinking and not executing. You do not need perfect wording to get started. You just need to get your thoughts out.

And a huge thank you to Heidi for the kind words she shared after the demonstration. It is always great to hear that the advice I give clients and team members is valued.

If you are not using AI like this yet, it might be time to start.

One of the biggest leadership mistakes I see?

Tolerating the wrong behavior for too long.

There’s a belief that avoiding conflict keeps the peace.
It doesn’t.

It creates tension.
It creates frustration.
And eventually, it creates division.

Because nothing will ruin a great team member faster than watching you tolerate a bad one.

Your team is always watching.
They notice who gets held accountable… and who doesn’t.
They see the head nods, the excuses, the second chances that somehow turn into fifth and sixth chances.

And every time that behavior gets a pass, trust takes a hit.

Not just in that person… but in you as a leader.

Here’s the hard truth:

When you tolerate mediocrity or toxic behavior, you’re not being kind.
You’re choosing short-term comfort over long-term culture.

And your best people feel it.

They start asking themselves:
“Why do I hold the standard if no one else has to?”

That’s when disengagement starts.
That’s when great team members begin to check out… or walk out.

Real leadership takes courage.

Sometimes that means having the hard conversation.
Sometimes that means holding the line on your core values.
And sometimes… that means loving someone into another opportunity.

Because it’s not just about protecting your culture.

It’s about doing right by everyone involved.

Your team deserves a healthy, aligned environment.
You deserve a team you can trust.
And that person deserves the chance to find a place where they’re a better fit.

That’s not failure. That’s leadership.

If this resonates, drop a 👍 or share it with another leader who needs the reminder.

Something I’ve been really fascinated by lately is AI… and how underutilized it still is in most offices.
This video? Not scripted at all.
It’s just a real moment from a leadership call I had last week with one of the offices in my coaching program.

We were talking through a challenge, and I walked her through something I use almost daily in my business:

Using WhisperFlow together with Claude.

Here’s why this combo is so powerful:

Most people get stuck because they think they have to sit down and type everything perfectly.

You don’t.

With WhisperFlow, I literally just talk.
Stream of consciousness. Ideas. Half-formed thoughts.

It captures everything, cleans it up, fixes the wording, and turns it into something usable.

Then I take that and drop it into Claude.

And that’s where the magic happens.

Now I’ve got:
Clear plans
Better communication
Organized ideas
Systems built faster than I could ever type them

All from just… talking.

No overthinking.
No staring at a blinking cursor.
No wasting time trying to sound perfect.

Just getting your thoughts out and letting AI help you refine them.

And what I’ve found is this:

The bottleneck in most businesses isn’t a lack of ideas.
It’s a lack of ex*****on.

This removes that bottleneck.

So if you’re still typing everything manually, you’re making things harder than they need to be.

Leverage the tools.
Simplify the process.
Move faster.

If you’re already using AI like this, drop a 🔥 below.
If not, this might be your sign to start.
