🔧 Water Heater PSA – Texas Homeowners 🔧

We were recently called out to a home where a water heater had just been INSTALLED BY OTHERS, but the customer was experiencing a gas leak.

Here’s some helpful info for homeowners in Texas 👇

✔️ In Texas, a licensed plumber is required to make the water connections and gas connections to the unit.
✔️ A water heater isn’t just an appliance — it’s part of your home’s plumbing system, and it needs to be installed and checked as a whole for safety.
✔️ The only exception is a homeowner working on their own homestead.

Why this matters:
A licensed plumber isn’t just installing a tank — they’re checking the entire system for safety, including gas leaks, proper fittings, and code compliance.

Even in areas where permits may not always be enforced, the safety standards still apply.

💡 Takeaway:
Always make sure whoever is installing your water heater is:
