Incredibly honored to perform Songs my mother taught me... with my dear friend and colleague, Shelly Moorman-Stahlman for the SHSU Art Song Festival. I am blessed to be performing next to so many talented musicians, artists, storytellers, and educators.

Registration is open for the 2022 Art Song Festival! This 3-day event brings together a broad range of scholars and performers from around the country. Featuring a full recital and masterclass from acclaimed soprano Twyla Robinson and the 9th annual Art Song Competition, this year’s festival includes a blend of live & online offerings, all of which can be viewed at the registration link: https://www.accelevents.com/e/shsuartsongfestival2022.

Super excited to be apart of this amazing project with the company I got my professional start with!

Please join us tomorrow at 7PM PT (10EST) for a special digital concert, Opera Santa Barbara Celebrates Black History Month in Song. We have invited OSB Studio Artist alumni and some of OSB’s favorite performers to sing pieces curated in part by African-American tenor, educator, and Chrisman Studio Artist alum, Jonathan Walker-VanKuren.

Our eleven diverse singers have come together for this virtual concert to celebrate Black composers and artists. We hope to highlight the significance of Black contributions to the classical music genre and use this opportunity to showcase some of the emerging and established Black voices of opera. The concert will be available on Facebook, Youtube, and the OSB website for on-demand viewing after the initial premiere.

The concert is made possible through Opera Santa Barbara’s Performing Artists Fund, which is generously supported by the John C. Mithun Foundation.

A year ago today my best friend and dearest collaborator performed this recital, Songs my mother taught me... produced by Fort Worth Opera! Unfortunately, Kyle and I cannot perform it together but I am so excited to be able to present it this year with another friend and a dear colleague at the piano, Dr. Eric Fung. What an absolute pleasure it was to offer a masterclass to the Brazilian students through the Lebanon Valley College Music Department Exchange program my dear colleague Dr. Shelly Moorman-Stahlman arranges every year! The session was full of great singing by all! Through all of the unfortunate things that have come from this academic year, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with amazing musicians all over the world! Music is alive and well at Lebanon Valley College and beyond!
