When I first started salsa dancing, I wanted to be intermediate immediately.

I didn’t want to spend months learning the basics. I wanted to know the turns, follow the lead, hear the music and somehow look like I knew what I was doing.

Business can feel a lot like that.

I see women put enormous pressure on themselves to make the *right* decision, know exactly how it will turn out and have the next five steps figured out before they move.

This weekend in our Founder/Prosper Leader Deep Dive, we worked through two ideas that took a surprising amount of pressure off:

“First, understand the difference between a choice and a decision.”

Not every choice is permanent. Some things can be tested, evaluated, adjusted and changed.

“Second, right-size the decision.”

Stop asking today’s next step to carry the weight of the next five years.

That’s where so much unnecessary pressure comes from.

One of our Founders, Genevieve, shared afterward that she values the
“spirit-led clarity, focus and direction”
she gains from these sessions.

That is exactly what I desire women to experience.

Because sometimes you don’t need six more months of thinking.

You need the right conversation, the right questions and enough clarity to take the “next right step”

And just like salsa, you don’t become confident by standing on the edge of the dance floor trying to understand every move.

You learn by moving.

What if success is costing you too much?

Your joy.
Your peace.
Your relationships.
Your health.
Your time with God.

I don’t believe we were meant to build that way.

Tonight I’m going salsa dancing, and it’s a simple reminder that a successful life should still feel like a life you actually want to live.

That’s part of what Total Soul Prosperity means to me: prospering in every area of your life spiritually, physically, financially and in all your relationships.

There is another way to live and build.

Are you being led… or driven?
Salsa has taught me more about this than I ever expected.
When I follow well, I don’t need to know every move in advance. I need to stay connected enough to feel the lead and trust enough to respond.
I’ve realized how different that is from the way fear moves us.
Fear rushes.
Fear grips.
Fear tries to control the outcome.
But the Holy Spirit leads.
And that distinction matters in life and in business.
Sometimes the real question isn’t just, “What should I do next?”
It’s:
“What is leading me as I do it?”

September is four days old and I already caught myself thinking, “I need to catch up.”

I’ve been quieter online for a few days. There are things I want to write, people I want to follow up with and ideas I want to move forward.

Then I looked at these pictures from Wednesday night.

I had gone to San Francisco for Cuban salsa lesson and dancing. I laughed, danced and came home happy.

And I thought: I refuse to make myself feel guilty for living the life God has given me.

I spent years believing growth required more pushing, more effort and more squeezing into an already-full life.

I’m learning to ask a different question now:

What do I need to make room for so I can receive what God wants to bring next?

That feels like an important question for September.
