IRONMAN needs a few motorcycle riding volunteers 8:00AM -2:30PM Saturday July 11th

What to know: This team will drive officials and media through the bike course. Must provide your own Motorcycle, License, and Insurance.

What to know: Motorcycles (Motos) are used during an Ironman event for a number of purposes; carrying race officials, video, still photographers, and related roles. Since most motos will be carrying passengers, volunteers should be comfortable in that role and their motorcycles should be comfortable for a passenger. Favorable bikes: touring and sport touring road bikes. Unfavorable choices: sport and off-road bikes. Some motos will be carrying race officials (Marshalls) who patrol the course looking for rule infractions. Motos carrying video cameramen should be experienced, as the cameraman often stands or sits backwards. Still photographers often need to dismount and shoot quickly. Most moto jobs require you to be there from 5am to late morning. All motos are required to have a current registration, insurance and license. There will be a MANDATORY Volunteer Meeting on Friday evening before the race for all Moto Volunteers. Please mark your calendar!

New Mexico Science and Technology Business Startup Grant Now Open

Economic Development New Mexico’s (EDNM) Technology and Innovation Office (TIO) is now accepting applications for the FY27 Science and Technology Business Startup Grant.

The initiative is a competitive, state-funded grant that supports small businesses engaged in research and development with the potential to commercialize their technology. This grant assists early-stage companies that are developing a unique product and exhibit strong growth potential.

Funds are intended for business development expenses, providing recipients with additional resources to commercialize their technology in their company’s early stages. Projects may be awarded between $25,000 and $50,000.

New Mexico-based for-profit science or technology companies are eligible to apply. Applicants must be in one of the following industry sectors: advanced computing, advanced energy, aerospace & defense, or bioscience.

Applications are due by Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 5 p.m. MDT.
