Orientation is in the books, and after an incredible tour of the Deines Cultural Center, it’s time for the fun to begin!

🔎 Class V associates are now hitting the streets of downtown Russell for their Downtown Scavenger Hunt before enjoying lunch at one of our local businesses and diving into their DISC Personality Assessments this afternoon.

This isn’t just a scavenger hunt—it’s an opportunity to discover the people, businesses, history, hidden gems, and opportunities that make Russell County such a special place. We hope today’s experience opens their eyes to new connections, strengthens their community knowledge, and inspires them to see our hometown through a new lens.

As part of the graduation celebration, attendees participated in the Leadership Passport: Russell County Connection Challenge—a one-time interactive experience designed by Class IV to encourage guests to explore, connect, and engage with the businesses and organizations that make Russell County such a special place to call home.

Now, the excitement continues! In just one short month, we’ll be welcoming Leadership Class V as they begin their own journey of growth, connection, and service to Russell County.

You may have seen this floating around Facebook over the past week, and we felt it was important to officially share it as a new community resource for Russell County.

The Russell County Area Civic Stream was created with one simple purpose: to make public meetings and civic information more accessible to everyone in our community.

The mission of the Russell County Area Civic Stream is straightforward: no commentary, no opinions, no agenda—just access. By livestreaming and archiving public meetings, we’re helping ensure that anyone can stay informed, whether they’re able to attend in person or not.

This initiative has been proposed as a community project through Russell County Leadership (RCL), whose mission is to develop leaders and strengthen civic engagement throughout Russell County. We believe this is the kind of project that can provide lasting value by increasing transparency, encouraging informed citizens, and making local government more accessible.
