I’ve been laid off before.
More than once.

I’ve also taken intentional pauses in my career — moments where I stepped back on purpose, even when it didn’t make sense on paper.

And so has Steve.

We know firsthand that these moments can be disorienting. Not just financially or professionally, but internally. A role ends, the structure disappears, and suddenly that quiet question shows up:

“Now what?”

What I’ve learned — through lived experience, not theory — is that rushing doesn’t help. Panic-applying doesn’t help. Explaining yourself too soon doesn’t help.

What does help is slowing the moment down long enough to get your footing back.

I created a short, free Now What? Reset Guide for anyone who’s been laid off or is in a career pause. It’s the kind of guide I wish I’d had — something calm, practical, and steady when everything felt uncertain.

If this is your season (or someone you love is in it), download the guide: https://jennyteeters.com/reset

And if it’s not your season right now, please feel free to share. These moments are more common than we admit — and no one should have to navigate them alone. 💛

This is especially touching to me because in prayer recently I was asking God how long he has loved me. A bold question, but I asked it anyway and words from Genesis came into my mind. Tears filled my eyes and I sat in awe that for me and for all He has loved us from eternity and throughout eternity. I literally started to look at people in my life and thought, 'Dang! We're going to know each other for-eva!'.

I know very little about God and religion and I try to have the faith of a child and keep learning. I believe that God has had everything figured out already from the beginning so day in and day out I try not to worry about the future.

Recovery teaches me to live one day at a time. This is a struggle-bus for a strategic planner like myself but God did not tell me life would be without difficulty. 😊

Have a wonderful day and I love you. And God loves you too! For-eva! 🕯️

Mary Kay once said, “Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but it doesn’t know that — so it flies anyway.”

💫 Here’s your reminder to start before you’re ready.

Faith > fear
Action > anxiety
Hope > hesitation

Comment 🐝 if you’re ready to take flight in your next season of reinvention.

✨ What I wish I knew at 40 about destiny and the fulfillment of desire

I used to think success meant hitting goals, earning titles, and checking every box on the corporate ladder. The S-curve of life!

I loved movies and magazines like the 1985 issue of Working Mother with successful career women in shoulder pads. My high school best friend and I used to day dream about wearing business suits and walking up a flight of stone steps into a large corporate office.

Those day dreams came true!

But somewhere between performance reviews and promotions, I realized that I was succeeding without feeling fulfilled. I felt I was stealing the seat of someone who really would be passionate in the seat I held as my new dreams took a different shape.

It wasn’t until I slowed down long enough to listen that I heard something deeper.

I heard quiet (and sometimes not so quiet) invitation from God to align with a new destiny, not just ambition.

Here’s what I’ve learned since:

1️⃣ Desire is divine direction. The dreams that tug at your heart aren’t random, they are leading you toward your purpose.

2️⃣ Fulfillment isn’t found in doing more, but in becoming more. When I began aligning who I am with what I am called to do now in this time, peace flowed.

3️⃣ Happiness is the fruit of destiny being realized. I'm finding joy in the unknown and trusting day by day when I pray and meditate for clarity.

If you feel that restlessness, I suggest you don’t ignore it.

That’s your soul whispering: it’s time to ascend. You cannot ignore your soul.

💬 I’d love to hear: what desire keeps resurfacing for you lately?

“56% of what followers most want from leaders is hope.” - Gallup-Global-Leadership-Report

At jenny123.com and jennyteeters.com, we help with human reinvention.

The latest Gallup Global Leadership Report confirms what I’ve long known from experience: hope is not a “soft skill.” It’s a strategic differentiator.

👉 Hope drives engagement
👉 Hope reduces suffering
👉 Hope inspires performance

My journey taught me that hope isn’t abstract — it’s practical, measurable, and transformational. That’s why we embed it into leadership strategy, coaching, and culture-building with every client.

👉 Leaders, how are you bringing hope into your workplace?
