Starting a business doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out alone.

Two resources more people should know about: your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Chamber of Commerce.

SBDCs can connect you with no-cost business advising and workshops, while Chambers can help you meet other local business owners and get plugged into your community.

If you’re building something, use the resources that are already there for you.

They need clarity.

If you can answer these four questions, you’re already ahead of most entrepreneurs:

• Who do you serve?
• What do you sell them?
• How do they find you?
• Where does the money go?

A business plan isn’t about checking a box. It’s about making better decisions.

I didn’t create my coaching framework from a business book.

I found it in the soil.

While reading Dirt to Soil by Gabe Brown, I realized the same principles that restore depleted land can also restore people. That’s where the G.R.O.W.T.H. Framework was born.

These aren’t just ideas I teach. They’re the foundation of my coaching, my speaking, and especially my equine-assisted workshops. Horses have a remarkable way of revealing where we’re stuck and helping us practice these principles in real time.

The horse doesn’t care about your inbox.

She’s not thinking about the meeting, or the thing you said that you’ve been replaying since Tuesday. She just reads what’s actually going on with you, and responds to that.

That’s the work. You step into the arena and the noise has to stay at the gate.

Next session is August 10: Taming the Inner Critic. We spend the morning with the horses figuring out what that voice in your head is really costing you, and how to turn the volume down.
