How did I get into the fashion business? Growing up in the Midwest, I developed an interest in fashion and fashion design while sewing clothes for my girlfriends. Voted
best dressed in high school, we also traded skirts, dresses, and shoes and chatted for hours about how best to style them. Graduating from college with a Fashion Merchandising degree, I went on to be a buyer for May Company, Los A
ngeles, and Weinstocks in Sacramento. Being a buyer for women’s clothing exposed me to textile manufacturing, seasonal deliveries, forecasting trends, and the importance of quality materials and fair pricing. I understand the construction of clothing. Therefore, I can touch, feel, and quickly assess the quality of a piece of clothing or shoe. As a buyer, I had to pay careful attention to fashion trends among high-profile celebrities attending awards ceremonies, fashion runway shows, or photo shoots. Overtime, while raising my family and volunteering at community events, I observed how important personal style is to everyday women; fortunately, style services are no longer just available to celebrities-- as a range of services are available online, in stores, and by personal stylists. I am a style expert—a personal stylist working in northern California. I founded Debbie O’Hearn Personal Styling in 2010 —a company based in Sacramento, CA with three core services: personal style consultation; wardrobe analysis and closet editing; and, personal shopping. The services can be tailored to anyone—women preparing for important events, travel, work, or a new fitness routine. My clients count on my versatility (I follow trendy, classic, vintage, casual, and modern styles) and familiarity with a range of retail and consignment stores, boutiques, fashion brands and designers. I bring my values to my work—I am honest, reliable, efficient and trustworthy. I am happiest when my clients report that they love their new, refreshed look, style, and wardrobe. Many say that I am an answer to the prayers of time-strapped women overwhelmed with the number of clothing options online and in stores.
