We recently participated in Operation Spring Cleaning with the Sacramento County Sheriffโ€™s Office and other agencies throughout the area. This operation is meant to target individuals who sexually exploit minors. As a result of this operation, Yolo County detectives identified 60 year old Dean Rutter of Colfax as a suspect. Detectives from our investigationโ€™s unit along with Yolo County detectives served a warrant at Rutterโ€™s home and located child sexual abuse material. Rutter was arrested for 311.1(a) PC, which is possession of this type of material.

Based on an interview with Rutter, detectives have reason to believe that there could be additional unknown victims in the area. If you have any information regarding Rutterโ€™s and this type of activity, please contact our crimes against personsunit at the Placer County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Thank you to the Sacramento County Sheriffโ€™s Office for organizing this operation, and also to everyone else who participated.
