Hey everyone! I know I haven’t posted anything in a while but I have to say something about this! I’m starting to see a lot of families not put their family in the best position in securing assets. We need to make sure that if God forbid you pass away your family members are in the best position possible when it comes to your family’s finances and assets.
What do you mean you ask?
Two things you can do right now that will protect your family in the event something happens to you:
1. Get life insurance! Life insurance back in the day was called income protection. The average funeral cost between 8-10k. That’s not including bills, mortgage, rent, and more. The reason why a lot of people do car washes and gofundme is mainly because the individual didn’t have life insurance! Theres no disrespect if that’s what needs to be done but just stating there’s other options that’s available!
2. Create a trust whether you have real estate property or not! Having a trust will keep your family from probate which is when a judge decides what to do with your estate you left behind and the state takes a percentage from your estate. This has lead to so many breakups or fights within families looking at monetary compensation they will receive from someone’s death rather than looking out for the loved ones that’s left behind.
Me being a licensed real estate broker and licensed in life insurance I can help you in both of these areas but that’s not what I’m here for. I just need all of you to be aware and protect your family. Protect the people you care about enough to make sure they are in a better position than you left them. Your loved ones should only have to worry about celebrating your life when you are gone. Unfortunately when someone passes away family members start to look at ways to gain monetarily instead of doing the right thing. I’m seeing to much of it and I’m sure had they known their options the outcomes would be so different. Reach out to me if you ever have any questions or scenarios you want to talk about.
