California's Secretary of State is looking for volunteers to serve on the Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee. This committee of disability advocates and elections experts advises the Secretary of State on issues related to accessibility of elections for voters with disabilities.

Good news! The bill to increase SSI, AB 1584, has passed the Assembly just yseterday. The bill will now be reviewed by the Senate and then voted on early fall.

Make sure to keep contacting your Senator to ask that SSI be increased!

Individuals living alone, independently, can receive $889.40 in SSI in California. But this amount is difficult to live on in the expensive Bay Area.
