CASTING NOTICE — SHORT FILM “7‑DAY FREE TRIAL”

I am now casting the heartfelt comedy 7‑Day Free Trial, a sweet, funny, and emotionally grounded short film.
LOGLINE:
A teen daughter’s secret online sign‑up plunges her widowed father into a week of disastrous dating — but just before his free trial runs out, he takes a final leap of faith and posts a coded message he hopes only the right woman can decipher.
We are seeking talented Non‑Union actors for the following roles:
PRINCIPAL ROLES — $150/day
✨ GRACE (Female, 18+, to play 13 & 15, Caucasian)
Snarky, sweet, and quietly faithful. The emotional heart of the film. Grace has stepped into the “woman of the house” role with tenderness, not heaviness. Shows love through stillness, silence, and gentle prodding.
Traits: Adventurous, bold, empathetic, playful, snarky, spirited, faithful.
✨ DON (Male, 40–49, Caucasian, 5’11”+)
A grieving widower with kind eyes and dry wit. Retired Navy Vet. Intelligent but emotionally frozen. Must show range — from sorrow to awkward humor to quiet hope.
Traits: Loyal, honorable, dependable, melancholy, trustworthy.
Must be comfortable rollerblading (or willing to learn).
SUPPORTING ROLES — $100–$150/day
✨ JULIE (Female, late 30s–early 40s, Caucasian) — $100/day
Warm, kind, spiritually attuned. Quiet confidence. Appears only at the end but must create instant connection. Subtle emotional depth required.
✨ TIFFANY (Female, 30s–50s, any ethnicity) — $100/day
A gold‑digging glitterbomb in stilettos. Flashy, fun, high‑maintenance. Strong comedic instincts and physical presence.
✨ MAGGIE (Female, 30s–50s, any ethnicity) — $150/day
Don’s first encounter. Flirty, overly nice, a bit desperate but not raunchy. Wants to escape her job. Great dry comedic timing.
UNPAID ROLE
✨ MOM (Female, 55–65, Caucasian)
This is a full family unit. If you know a real family that fits, please encourage them to submit. (We will also mix and match individual submissions.)
