Watch for the signs of burnout (depression? health issues? anger?) and then work on an alternate caregiving situation. You matter too.

Everything can be worked through, just talk it through.

Misunderstandings can happen with the loved one we are caring for, our family and even the medical personnel involved. Set aside your anger and defensiveness and try to come to a resolution.

Comforting someone not only makes them feel better but also yourself.

There are days you have plans, but a friend needs your help or needs you to listen or provide support. That might not have been your original plan, but that time is never wasted. What you end up doing may actually be so much more important than what you had originally planned.
