But don't become so obsessed with having more that you forget to actually live.

One day, the things you own will belong to someone else.

The person you became along the way is what you'll truly carry with you.

Leadership is a lot like a tree.
When you look at a strong, thriving tree, you don't immediately notice its roots, but its roots are the reason it stands tall. They provide stability, nourishment, and the foundation needed for every branch to grow and flourish.
Leadership works the same way.
Before you can develop the visible skills of leadership; communication, influence, decision-making, and confidence, you must first strengthen your roots. Your character, values, integrity, emotional intelligence, and willingness to grow are what anchor you when challenges arise.
A tree cannot survive without water, sunlight, fertile soil, and consistent care. Likewise, leaders cannot grow without continuous learning, mentorship, self-reflection, and intentional development. Every book you read, every lesson you learn, every mentor who challenges you, and every obstacle you overcome becomes fertilizer for your leadership journey.
If a tree's roots are shallow, the slightest wind can knock it down.
The same is true for leaders. When your foundation isn't firmly planted, adversity, criticism, setbacks, and uncertainty can easily shake your confidence. But when your roots run deep, storms don't define you, they develop you.
The most effective leaders understand that leadership isn't about titles; it's about transformation.
Change is often forced.
Transformation is a choice.
So take time to evaluate your own leadership roots.
🌳 Are you investing in your personal growth?
🌳 Are you nourishing your mindset?
🌳 Are you surrounding yourself with people who challenge you to become better?
🌳 Are you planting yourself in environments where you can thrive?
Remember this: A tree never asks permission to grow.
It simply grows because it is firmly planted.
Neither should you.
Stop waiting for permission to lead. Plant yourself with purpose. Strengthen your roots. Nourish your potential. Trust the process of becoming.
When your foundation is strong, your leadership will naturally grow, and so will the lives you impact.
Lead from within. Grow with purpose. Become who you were created to be.
