I tested AI headshots on my own photo. Here's the honest truth.

The hype is real: 's July 2023 TikTok — a car selfie turned into LinkedIn headshots — hit 42.9M views in its first days (now past 52M plays) and sent Remini to #1 on the App Store. So I ran the free test myself: Pixelbin, no signup, about one minute, on my own photo. Verdict: it kept ME — same smile, same glasses, just studio-clean.

The other side: 's July 2023 TikTok — "All I wanted were some linkedin head shots. Why did AI give me a b**b job 😭" — the AI reshaped a body nobody asked it to reshape. Remini's own July 2023 response: body types were "not an exact representation."

My honest middle: I want a tool that polishes the background, not the person — same face, same features, just a cleaner, professional photo. And check the price before you start — when the trial ends, they bill you unless you cancel first.

One of these voices is AI. Can you tell? 👀

Right now there are two loud camps online. One side says voice cloning is the future — tutorials promise "clone any voice in 30 seconds," and the free neuTTS-air demo pulled 16K likes in August. The other side is sounding the alarm with receipts.

Holly Laing (320K followers) found her AI-cloned voice narrating a stranger's hair tutorial — her discovery video drew 48.7K likes. Anna Bash discovered a 204K-follower TikTok account built entirely on her stolen voice: "their entire page is MY VOICE." Jessica Naziri's family safe-word video (25.7K likes) and Crime Junkie's virtual-kidnapping warning show this isn't theoretical.

So I did the test myself. I cloned MY voice — with my own consent — and put it side by side with the real me. Because here's the honest middle nobody's showing you: the same tool that steals a voice can also serve one.

The line isn't technology. The line is consent and disclosure.
