Over the summer we had a ribbon cutting with the Southern NH Chamber of Commerce for the opening of our pumping division. It was a wonderful day with family, friends, and the Chamber to support our new venture. We are excited to serve our customers as a full service septic company.

We recently helped a customer out in the seacoast, who pumps to sewer, with a multitude of ongoing issues. The existing setup was in very rough shape.

The original panel / grinder pump had multiple failures and was quickly headed towards an electrical fire. The electrical junction box within the chamber was no longer sealed and the electrical connections were flooded. The main line between the house and chamber had a massive sag causing blockages and backups. The slide rails and "quick" disconnect fittings were completely rotted through. It had a very nice aluminum hatch that, unfortunately, was buried and non-sealing.

With that said, we had to gut everything. The main line was nearly 3ft deep and required a full replacement. Once exposed, we found there was only 1inch of pitch on the 10ft run (code is (.25inch / foot). We had no choice but to core the chamber a few inches lower to correct this issue. The new SCH-40 line was bedded in 3/4 stone and heavily compacted.

We next installed an exterior hand hole and electrical junction box outside the chamber. This allowed the connections to be located outside of the wet chamber and away from the corrosive gases. The floats were installed on a separate PVC float tree and the plumbing within the chamber was raised to allow for access/maintenance at the surface. No more lowering someone into the chamber to diagnose/replace components.

A new simplex pump/alarm control panel was installed to allow for full control and testing of all electrical components. We removed the aluminum hatch and ordered a custom concrete grade ring to allow us to adapt a plastic riser assembly. Risers and covers were added to gain future access at a moment's notice and allowed for proper cleaning and maintenance.

Long story short, the homeowner understood it was a massive undertaking and that something needed to be done to correct it. We talked about having the chamber pumped and inspected every 3-4 years to help maintain the equipment. Aside from that, it should be out-of-site and out-of-mind.

Although the entire job was worst case scenario, we are very happy with the way it turned out. Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice...

This past summer, a homeowner from Windham reached out because they were having issues with their existing Eljen field. It was no longer draining and causing backups in the basement.

Once a new system design was in place, we got to work removing the old field. Eljen's are comprised of folded & woven septic fabric in the shape of small mattresses. Generally, the effluent flows through these units and into the sand layer below. In the photo, you can see the white effluent conduit lines laying on top of the pads.

The septic tank was still in good condition but needed a little extra love. We replaced the cracked and non-sealed concrete covers with new Tuftite riser assemblies. A septic filter was installed and hydraulic cement was utilized to patch the failing outlet pipe location.

The new field was a large stone and pipe located between the tank and the street. A septic vent was tucked into the bushes and a charcoal filter was installed to help mitigate odors. New loam was brought in and raked to match the existing lawn.

All that was left was to test the irrigation and let the hydroseed company do their thing. Another one in the books...

Not often do we find ourselves installing non-complex lake lot systems but it for sure is a nice change of pace. This system was your typical run-of-the-mill stone & pipe. We utilized a two-compartment septic tank and installed a filter in the last chamber.

As per usual, we installed Tuftite risers and flat covers to the surface on all (3) access ports. This system had a decently long main line between the house and tank. It also had an old concrete apron around the home and all plumbing sat inside the poured concrete slab. We installed an exterior cleanout to allow access to the line under the slab should any issues occur in the future.

Thankfully this site had very clean sand throughout and was able to be utilized as clean backfill. New loam was brought in, machines hauled out and hydroseeded.

This past summer we were tasked to install another clean solution system on a lake lot in Pelham. Although this home is only currently used as a summer getaway, this new system would allow for full year usage.

All system components (including the pump chamber and compressor) were located near the home on the lower side of the hill. The force main required trenching across the access road to the field located up the hill.

All tank covers were made accessible to the surface and an electrical handhole was placed outside the pump chamber to keep both moisture and gases away from the connections. A PVC float tree was installed to allow future service without having to disconnect and pull the pump.

The field was another tiny stone and pipe. It consisted of a small D-box and a single row that was 20' long (100 sqft total 😮). The original material was a very clean natural sand and thus didn't require much of an overdig.

While we were onsite, we expanded their small and rough parking pad. This cleaned up the area and allowed for more dedicated parking (worth its weight in eggs in this current market 🤣). We are very happy with the end product and hope they get to enjoy this place more often.
