SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury is partnering with the organizers of Red, White & Boom to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary with an evening of family activities and fireworks on Saturday, July 4.
The celebration will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at James M. Bennett High School and will conclude with the annual Red, White & Boom fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.
Free and open to the public, the event will feature food trucks, music, games, bounce houses and activities for all ages. The celebration is designed to encourage families to arrive early, enjoy the holiday together and spend time with friends and neighbors before the fireworks begin.
As communities across the country mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, Salisbury’s celebration highlights the importance of local traditions and the organizations, volunteers and community partners who help make them possible.
For many families, Red, White and Boom has become a Fourth of July tradition. This year, the City is proud to work alongside the event organizers to build on that tradition by creating more opportunities and entertainment for families to gather and celebrate before the fireworks.
“This is our 14th year hosting Red, White, and Boom, and we’re grateful for the City of Salisbury’s support in expanding the entertainment offered to families attending this event. This free, all‑ages event continues to be a wonderful opportunity for community fun and celebration,” said Brian Nelson, one of the organizers of Red, White, and Boom.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and plan to spend the evening at the event. Food, activities and entertainment will be available throughout the evening before the fireworks begin.
For public safety, East College Avenue from South Division Street to Arthur Court and South Division Street from College Avenue to Christenson Lane will close beginning at approximately 8 p.m. in preparation for the fireworks display.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and plan accordingly.
