Truth be told my goal of slamming people with smiles is just to get a smile in return.

Too many construction leaders abdicate their authority cuz they are too scared to own the stinky parts of performance management.

Here are some tell tale signs of them trying to wash their hands with other people:
- its coming down from corporate
- “They” said
- this came from upstairs

all of these fraises are weak sauce and erode whatever respect the leader may have had.

Leadership also has little to do with age or tenure.

And here’s a tip for the younglings eager to be in “leadership”

- have a direction: Without a direction you ain’t even leading yourself

- contribute to the path of others: serving others is key to getting followers

ps. If you have a direction and zero followers you are miles ahead of the rest😉

With so many inefficiencies on the job site, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.

But there are a few places to start that will bring you solid returns on your effort:
- warranty issues
- safety incidents
- large quantities of equipment

Targeting these 3 will produce measurable impact and spark the crews creativity😉

The Construction Industry is hard, and some people go their entire career working for bosses👎

But, there are solid leaders out there working to leave things better than we found em.

They aint scared to go against the grain, challenge the status quo, or stand alone fighting the good fight.

These are the type of leaders we need to celebrate and support.

So if you are fortunate enough to come across this type of leader, shout em out
cuz they very likely are running on fumes and need a little boost🚀

Project Close Out ain’t for the weak.

Confession: I’m not the project close out type of guy. All the damn punch lists, and tick tacky administrative tasks make my eyes gloss over.

But it is super important, so inform yourself of all the boxes that need to be checked and pick someone who is good at it to make it happen👍

Well they did get caught
But they were in the middle of doing something good

They were figuring out how to attack life stealing work!

and we need a whole bunch more leaders like them removing the life stealing work our craft workers are exposed to everyday
