Some books will change your life. Wild Mediterranean] is one of those books for me.

My word for the year is “ALIGN.” I chose this word because I wanted to work toward my actions lining up with my beliefs.

So finding this book is helping me to match my desires for my health with my eating habits.

Why don’t people tell you these things?

I wish someone had told me that one of the greatest challenges that I would have in building my business would be myself. Well, my mindset, to be more exact.

I thought that I just needed to know all of the things…onboarding new clients, becoming a master with Asana, Airtable, Freshbooks, Kajabi, etc., how to show up on social media and on.

Yes doing all of those things is important.

BUT, what I have learned, though, is that if my mind is getting in the way of me moving forward, all of my knowledge and skills will NOT serve me. Or at least very little.

So, March is Mindset Month for me! (We writers love a good alliteration!)

My ideas for strengthening my mindset…journaling, prayer, doing the “hard” things afraid (OFTEN), showing up for myself, learning from others.

Give me a 👊🏾, if you feel me about how HUUUGGEEEE mindset is.

Knowing when to outsource your copywriting/social media—3 reasons

🧚🏾‍♂️ You HATE writing.

🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️ You are a decent writer, but writing is NOT your zone of genius.

🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️ You are a great writer, but more important things need you attention.

🧚🏾‍♂️ Does the thought of writing make you flashback to sophomore year of English Language Arts??? And maayyybeee that’s not a good feeling! You want to scream, “Don’t make me write, PLEASE!”

🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️ People compliment you on your writing. Yet you know the truth deep down: it’s not your zone of genius.

🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️🧚🏾‍♂️ You are a great writer, but would like a proofreader and need someone else to bother with the tech end of posting, researching hashtags and the rest. You feel if someone else did the bulk of the “heavy lifting”, you could just add your secret sauce.

If any of the above reasons sound like you, consider outsourcing your copywriting/social media.

Then you’ll have time to hum in your zone of genius and focus on what demands all of YOU.

Are you always wondering what to post on the Gram? You kind of feel like you should. You know, that’s what they say.

But posting for you goes like this…..Write a sentence, erase a sentence.....Arrgghhhh! The frustration sets in.

What if I told you that you could streamline the entire process for free?

Which hat(s) are you wearing today?

Sometimes it’s just necessary to wear all of the hats.

Yet, no one is pulling the wool over your eyes. You are aware of the one great truth.

Many of these positions in your business are not only way outside of your zone of genius, but are not even in your level of competency.

It was just that things had to get done. It didn’t matter that you weren’t good at it or didn’t even like certain tasks.

I get it.

You are painfully aware, because you are tired and want to focus on the parts of your business that you easily rock.

I think we need to talk. Let’s talk about what is in your zone of genius and what isn’t.

Where could you go? What could you do, if you believed this truth: what you need to move forward, to really move forward, is already inside of you?!

Tag someone who needs to hear a good word!

No more, “I just need to take one more course”, or “It would be great to have a mentor” (though you haven’t acted on what your coach taught you).

Today, let’s lace up our shoes, take a deep breath, let one foot hit the pavement after another and trust our inner knowing to guide us on the path.

How do you become a better writer?

By writing!

The answer is simple, but is not always easy.

The all-white Google doc on your computer screen or the blank sheet of paper in front of you can be very intimidating. Trust me, I know.

And if you are also like me, you may have a committee of critics in your head offering their unwanted opinions every time you start.

On the days when their vote seems to outweigh your own, you may not get much written.

My dear friend, , gave me the best advice about becoming a better writer. He is a visual artist and author among his other talents and passions.

(Before you go any further, go check out his phenomenal artwork. I’ll wait right here for you.)

Many years ago, he encouraged me to write 15 minutes a day, EVERY day. The “every day” part is the most essential.

Composing your thoughts and typing them out will become second nature. Your internal committee may even get tired and leave you alone for a while, when they see you consistently determined to find a clever turn of phrase.

The corollary to this first piece of advice goes like this, “The amazing writer that you will be one day needs the crappy writer that you are today.”

Another way of expressing this same idea: don’t despise small beginnings; you have to start somewhere; even if it is with that crappy sentence that you just wrote.

Do you want to show up more often on social media, but the writing piece is getting in the way?

Just start. Just write. Even if it is crappy.

Imagine you can’t use written words.

How effectively could you communicate with your clients?

Who are you?

I was a psych major; human behavior dazzles me!

And, I have rarely met a personality test that I didn’t like.

Like my stats say, I am :

On Myers-Briggs, an ENFJ. I was only about 3 points over the cut-off from being an introvert. Then one day, I learned that an “extroverted introvert” was a thing. I had found my tribe. Cue the angelic chorus, “Hallelujah!”

I love to hang out with people, but then don’t bug me until I go within to get re-charged! 💯

On the Enneagram, 2w3, Ever The Helper and Hostess. Want to come to dinner?

I can be people-pleasing when I am in a bad space.

I love to read the Enneagram descriptions of your number.

They always list the positive side and then don’t let you forget about your dark side. 🤣

Strengths-Finder Themes: Learner, Individuation, Ideation, Connectedness and Empathy.

I would probably go to school forever, if someone else were paying for it. When I taught I loved the 1:1 connections the most; kind of tricky to do when there are 33 in a class.

I see the Ideation and Empathy most when I write. When I can truly connect with someone, I feel the sparkle.
