Austin / Buda, Texas

Austin Heavy Duty is a family-owned and operated heavy-duty towing and equipment hauling company, proudly owned by Benchmark Towing Systems.

As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a full-time Heavy-Duty Wrecker Operator to join our team at our Austin, Texas location. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, customer-focused, safety-driven, and team-oriented, with a strong interest in long-term employment and growing with our company.

This position requires maintaining safety as a top priority, completing assignments efficiently, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

📍 Candidates must live locally in the Austin/Buda area (based on the location applying for).

Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Heavy-duty towing and transport
• Winching and recovery operations
• Assisting law enforcement agencies
• Equipment hauling
• Conducting pre- and post-trip truck inspections
• Keeping assigned truck, equipment, and storage boxes clean and organized

Our drivers are among the highest compensated in the industry, earning $90,000–$160,000 annually, based on experience and performance.

Joshua Avila, tragically lost his life today due to a driver who did not slow down or move over. This incident highlights the extreme dangers faced by those in the heavy duty towing industry. Far too many tow truck drivers have lost their lives because of careless drivers. Please, let's all remember to slow down and move over when we see tow trucks and emergency vehicles. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joshua's family during this incredibly difficult time.

Tow op down – Joshua Villa, 45, of Iowa was fatally struck by a hit-and-run tractor-trailer on Interstate 80/35. "The tractor-trailer driver did not move over or slow down. His breath test showed an alcohol content above the legal limit. He was charged with homicide." https://buff.ly/3zUDF1F
