LCC Fire School H.O.T. Tracks!

Engine & Truck Company Operations (Live Fire) - FOOLS of Oz
Engine Track - 15 student cap | Truck Track - 15 student cap
This year, the class will be split into two tracks with 15 students each to maximize training opportunities. The revamped Working Engine and Truck class allows students to focus on two disciplines while practicing real-world fireground operations used daily across the country.
Engine Work: Stretching, flowing, advancing line, hydraulics
Truck Work: Search, VES, forcible entry, ladders (structure dependent)
Friday will focus on drills, with live fire evolutions on Saturday. Engine students will stretch, advance, and extinguish fires, while truck students perform forcible entry, VES, and primary searches.

Standpipe - Training Solutions
This course covers an overview of standpipe operations and will include approximately 2-3 hours of classroom discussing standpipe operations, pumping, problem solving, and pre/post 1993 standpipe system requirements. Course exposes students to 2.5" hose line handling techniques, interior standpipe hook-up procedures, high rise bundle folds, hallway and stairwell stretches. Our intention is for this to be everything for hose handling operations for the high/mid-rise fire. We teach an emphasis on getting the first line in service as quickly and efficiently as possible and dedicating multiple people to this operation based on best past practices, NFPA standards, and standpipe system requirements.

Auto Extrication for the First Due - MV Fire Rescue
When the tones drop, the first-due company sets the tone for the incident. Auto-X for the First Due is an advanced, patient-driven extrication course focused on operating effectively with limited staffing, limited time, and high responsibility.
This course goes beyond traditional “by the book” extrication by teaching practical, street-smart tactics built for real-world response. Students will learn not only how to perform techniques, but why they matter when speed, precision, and patient outcomes are critical.
Whether you serve in a large urban department or rural volunteer company, this course provides a practical framework for rapid, safe, and patient-centered rescues under any conditions. Participants will leave more confident, efficient, and prepared for first-due auto extrication operations.

Street Smart Ladder Work - Michael Torres
This hands-on course breaks down the art and science of ground ladder operations for today’s fireground realities—minimum staffing, limited resources, and high expectations. Designed for firefighters working in two- and three-person companies, the class focuses on practical, street-proven ladder tactics that improve speed, safety, and efficiency.
Students will learn purpose-driven ladder placement, one- and two-firefighter throws, coordinated ladder operations, and practical strategies for operating effectively with limited manpower. The course also covers ladder labeling, tool knowledge, maintenance, and tactical positioning for rescue, access, and egress.
Whether assigned to the engine or truck, firefighters will leave with practical skills, smarter deployment methods, and a stronger operational mindset for real-world ladder work.

Real World Maydays - Chip Ashford
This hands-on class focuses on firefighter survival, Mayday procedures, self-rescue techniques, and operating effectively with limited staffing. Students will learn proactive strategies to prevent emergencies through situational awareness, communication, and disciplined air management while reviewing real-world Mayday incidents and lessons learned.
Practical skills include disentanglement, wall breaching, window bailouts, decision-making under stress, and survival-focused air management techniques. The course also addresses tactical considerations for short-staffed departments and strategies for maximizing safety and efficiency on the fireground.
By the end of the class, participants will gain practical survival skills, a stronger understanding of Mayday operations, and the mindset needed to adapt and operate safely in high-stress emergencies.

Top Pump - Jeremie Humphrey & John Hunt
Ready to take your pump operations to the next level? Top Pump is an advanced course designed for driver/operators who want to master the art and science of water movement under any condition. This hands-on course will cover vital topics not covered in Driver/Operator class, relay operations, troubleshooting, and strategies to keep water flowing when the pressure is on. Whether you’re supplying multiple lines, supporting water supply operations, or operating in challenging environments, this course will give you the confidence and skills to perform like an elite operator.
Stay sharp. Stay smooth. Be the Top Pump on the fireground.
