The James Beard Foundation Food and Beverage Industry Relief Fund

Restaurants, bars, and other independent food and beverage operations are strong economic drivers. $1 trillion generated by the culinary industry reflects 4% of our gross domestic product. The food and beverage community employs nearly 16% of the American workforce. These businesses support local economies, and according to some studies, restaurants pump as much as 60% of their money back into their local business communities.

Texas small businesses...March 17, 2020: Governor Abbot requested emergency designation for small business disaster loans.

Texas is currently working with SBA to qualify for this declaration to receive Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) for businesses and private non-profits in affected communities.

So...It's been a while since I posted on this page. I've been giving some thoughts lately on the direction to go with this page.

As many of you may know, I've been working for public institution job which had some changes in leadership and a LOT of work up until this coming September that had been keeping me busy.

There is a bit of a slow down coming up so I am shifting gears and working on some technical items that I think will be appropriate to share here as I do some research on customer personas customer avatars and then work on developing a few websites and sales funnels.

There are a few items that it is past time to start systematizing...

GOALS: What could you accomplish if you worked towards a goal a little each day with support?

I've spent the last 8 weeks on Team "The Young and the Rest of Us" with the goal to Walk Across Texas (833 miles combined) while improving our fitness. Let's just say I learned which end I was on, yet still exceeded my goal.
Some weeks there were setbacks from knee issues or tired due to traveling. One bout with a hypoglycemic issue. We each had the day to challenges, yet as a Team we Walked Across Texas twice!

One $40 million project going out for advertising from work today. It was a busy two weeks of the Team coming together to make it work after being moved up a month. :-) Three more going out next week!

Going back to my roots helping groups plan capital projects ranging from $10 M to ~$95 M. Helping groups with big missions who are working hard is a great way to heal the heart.
