A terrorist attack on New Year's Eve in New Orleans, perpetrated by someone (or a group of people) who targets large groups of people in high traffic areas. None of this is random.

For years people have asked me about our southern border and how secure or unsecured it is. For years (16+ years working in, on, and around that border, more than 4 years of that commanding) I've been explaining that as a country, we have no idea who is coming through our southern border. We have no idea how many terrorist "got-aways" (look that word up, i didn't make it up) have entered, and we sure as hell have no idea where they are in our country. Unfortunately, we're going to start learning where they are.

It's well past time to be prepared for the inevitable. Don't take it for granted that "it can't happen to me", because it can, and it will. It's too late to get prepared AFTER THE EVENT occurs.
