This week I tried to help a friend resolve her Facebook account being stolen...yes stolen. Not just hacked...but actually stolen. The thief had the password for BOTH her Facebook account AND email account....unfortunately they were both the same password. The thief changed the email address associated with her account and now she is completely locked out. Not sure if (even with my help) she'll be able to re-establish ownership of her account. So what are the lessons here:
1. Have unique passwords for all accounts - financial and otherwise.
2. If you don't have a digital password management system you need to use one. I use 1Password.
3. If 2-step authentication is offered, implement it.
4. Facebook offers the ability to identify "trusted contacts." Set those because those may be able to help you regain access if you get locked out.
Need help with any of these suggestions, give me a call.

Did you know....
Some Macs come with a Backspace key. Some Macs come with a Delete key. Unless you have an old enough Mac to have both, these keys work in the same way, removing the character before the text cursor. If you are looking to delete the character after the cursor, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. But all you need to do is to hold the FN key and then press your Backspace or Delete key to get this function. FN+Option+Delete will delete the whole word in front of the cursor. Make a resolution...stronger passwords that are safely documented (I use 1Password). Your IT person will love you for it 💕

Look, we get it. Remembering dozens and dozens of different passwords for different sites is next to impossible. But that doesn’t mean you should be reusing your passwords. That’s just asking for trouble.
