We are asking our community to help the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and their North County Food Bank chapter provide emergency food to vulnerable families affected by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. These Food Banks comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County, and distribute food to those in need at 200 distribution sites across the county as well as through 500 nonprofits with feeding programs. They are doing AMAZING work, but still need your support.

Did you see?! We recently interviewed John Stein of Kirei Design Materials, a provider of beautiful and sustainable acoustic solutions, for The Y Group Collective, a series where we highlight San Diego-based entrepreneurs.

Since 2002, Kirei has provided innovative, functional, earth-friendly, and visually interesting acoustic materials to the commercial design industry. From tiles made of reclaimed coconut shells to panels constructed of more than 230 million plastic bottles, being “green” is a key aspect of all their products.

We were inspired by Stein's passion for bringing beautiful, sustainable products to market. We dove deep into the driving force that was used to create Kirei, the story behind the Kirei name, and how the introduction of his products have changed acoustic design within the building industry.

What matters to you might not be the same as what matters to your people. You may be valuing different things in the workplace.

Communication is key when building a strong foundation and getting buy-in from your employee workforce. Sharing business goals is a start for establishing trust and giving employees a platform to share concerns (along with their wants). This will help everyone "build the same house."
